Apparently Peters attended multiple of UNC’s closed door practices last year while he was with the 49ers, an unusual thing to do

1. No idea if this is true or not, I’m skeptical, but that would be a huge deal

2. This is pretty much textbook could be something, could be nothing. If we’re gonna point out that Schefter is unreliable and the stuff he sent out about Daniels is pure speculation, then ScoutD saying Peters being a long time fan of Maye is equally pure speculation.

   We don’t know the contexts of those visits, if true, and we have no idea what his opinion is today.

3. Feel like it’s difficult to attribute things Peters did with the Niners to what he’s planning on doing here. Different teams, different needs, different positions in the organization.

5. When any nfl GM, coach, scout or big executive comes to visit your college you let them go to any closed door practice, meet the team, talk to players and hangout for as long as they want.

   Peters could have a buddy there working on the team for all we know.

7. If this is true and regardless on if it was specifically to scout Maye, it’s good to know that if he picks Daniels instead he’ll be doing it with tons of information on Maye. It could make sense that he’d be interested in learning about Maye knowing he was gonna be a GM one day to a destination of his choice where he would be picking high enough to draft him. Let’s not forget Maye has been touted an elite prospect for a while now.

8. The 49ers were never going to be in position to draft Maye and had no need to replace Purdy.

   So either

   A. He was there for some other reason.

   B. Peters knew he would be getting a job where he needed to be scouting top qb prospects in depth at some point last year.

9. Looks like this guy broke the Maye/Pats visit first and he has been campaigning for him to be the Pats pick. If it’s true or not is still unknown but what’s clear is he doesn’t have a reason/bias to make this up
