  7. Team should be incredibly embarrassed by how they have played recently. They went on a tear to climb back into the playoffs and have played like complete garbage ever since 

  8. No clue what happened because just a few weeks ago this team was scoring left and right. Now they get barely any shots all game.. isn’t going to get it done, wow.

  12. Patches fucked us with that turnover at the blueline right before the Sandin penalty wtf was he doing there he just lost it and tripped with hardly any pressure. Can’t make that play with 2 mins left in a tie game

    Patches: I don’t even think he’s on this team by how much of a non factor he is.

    Our entire defense panicked any time there was pressure. Absolutely no creativity with the breakout. Couldn’t get any resemblance of a clean entry.

    Fucking awful all around, you can say the refs cost us that one but if you look at the stat line I’m surprised it was even a contest to begin with. I heard Newfoundland needs a new club, maybe we ought to compete in the ECHL.

  30. If the caps shoot less than 50% of the shots on goal and ovechkin is the only goal scorer. We will lose and won’t make the playoffs. End of story.

  31. We won a cup in 2018. We have one of history’s greatest players on his way to breaking THE record of records. We’ve been making moves and securing younger players. Got a great new head coach and staff changes …

    It’s always so doom and gloom on here 😂Honestly, making playoffs would be a bonus. Enjoy the ride, people! We’ve known this wasn’t our season for awhile.

  34. Somehow even after losing 5 straight, we still control our own destiny. One point out of a wild card spot with one game in hand.

  39. I had to go to work. I turned it off in the 3rd period when we were leading 2-1. Flipped it back on to watch overtime.  Imagine my shock seeing the game was over and the final score.

  45. This subreddit makes me chuckle. So many people are all doom and gloom. There’s 5 teams within 2 points of each other for 2 playoffs spots. We’re unlikely to get it, but we might as well try.

    If you’re throwing in the towel on the season after tonight then I don’t want to see you in the sub on Sunday lol.

  46. There’s no reason a coach should be able to fucking whine the way Rod Brind’amour does and get a call from the refs.

  47. It’s because their coach legit made the refs his bitch so they caved in and called the caps on both non penalties. This is why NHL is cooked easily the worst officiating.

  48. Extremely disappointing to not get a point but those were 2 horse shit calls in the 3rd. Especially that last penalty.

    So close to making it 3-0 on that sequence with Wilson and mcmichael. At the time I knew they were gona come back after that. Just like Florida in the playoffs 2 years ago where we hit the post on the empty net to go up 3-1. That shit still haunts me

    Anyway, they lucked out that detroit and filly both lost in reg. There’s still slight hope, but it’s small. 5 losses in a row is certainly not ideal

  49. Refs sold this game. Sandin wasn’t hooking, he was holding the stick. Kuempers stick tripped the player and they call the pen on sandin. Meanwhile, kuzy slewfooted Jensen and even extended his leg to make contact and no call.
