This play was changed into an error and let me tell you, this is a hit. Covering first base on a play like that where one you have to find a base and at the same catch a baseball is a really hard play for anyone. Mike baumann to boot is 6’5 making the sidearm play from mount castle three times harder to catch. This is 100% a hit. You quite literally can’t pin an error on anyone in this play without their being an argument.

The perplexing thing is, who is the world would have the incentive to argue this call??
This play was anything but routine. I was a pitcher all the way up to independent ball and nothing about it looked like an error to me.
It’s fine. If he is actually good he will have many more achievements than just this little streak. If he’s not actually good, we have bigger problems.
