>*As he began to build roots in Chicago, Heyward wanted to open a place that gave kids the space to practice the game. In 2021, Heyward opened the Jason Heyward Baseball Academy in the Austin neighborhood in the West side of Chicago.* > >*Since its opening, Heyward has constantly tried to make it a place for everyone. On Friday, after the Dodgers’ game at Wrigley Field, Heyward and some of his Dodgers teammates provided a once-in-a-lifetime experience for kids.* > >*The Dodgers, led by Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Chris Taylor, Heyward and about a dozen more players, surprised local kids during a baseball scrimmage. As you would expect, the kids were overjoyed.*
Good on you, JHey.
One great human being. Love that guy.
Good on him and his teammates for doing that. the other guys definitely didn’t have to do that.
I’ll never understand why so many fans hated him – I remember a time when this sub would mock you if you said anything remotely positive about JHey
He’s always been a decent dude with a good heart
JHey is a good dude & goes there every time he’s in town with teammates. Hardly a surprise visit.
JHey is a mensch and that’s way more important than him living up to or not living up to his contract while he was here
I love this so much. JHey is a great guy.
Notably Shohei not there.
Fuck that guy, second coming of Pete Rose
Man I liv me less than 10 min from there. My 17 month old baseball phenom is gonna go there.
Said from that first game as a Brave against the Cubs that I wanted JHey to be a Cub one day. Awesome to see him keep investing in the city after he left.
