  1. I’ll give this draft class one thing: It’s kind of cool to have two of the prospects who could go 1st be international

    Doesn’t mean either goes 1st or 1 and 2 but it’s neat

  2. Raptors need a draft like the 2014 Cleveland Browns, where they got David God-Damn Putney.

  3. I’m really struggling with Clingan. I think he has the potential to be among the best rim protectors in the league when he’s in position, like easily could be Gobert/Holmgren/Kessler tier.

The problem is that his hips are very very stiff. He has good closing speed on help contests and block attempts, but man his legs move very slowly when he has to change direction. The average NBA point guard will cross him the fuck up on a switch, and in college he’s getting away with a ton of hand checking to avoid blow bys but that’s not gonna work in the NBA.

His hands are good but not GREAT, and I like his IQ and passing and touch around the rim but they’re not spectacular either.

According to Givony and others, he is draining 3s in warm ups and training, he’s just not allowed to shoot during games. Him being able to space the floor would also be interesting.

I think if Topic, Dillingham, Sheppard, and Risacher are all off the board by #6, I’d be fine to take a flyer on Clingan with the thought that he can add a 3P shot if that’s what scouts are saying. At minimum, he is going to give you similar production to Poeltl on a more team friendly deal. I expect Poeltl to begin his athletic decline very soon, so it’d be nice to move him.

  4. This team is void of talent and depth so having 3-4 picks (counting detroit) will be interesting. Not expecting a star player, but some role players would be nice

  5. Wow

I guess then Raps will need to eye Ware, Chombre or Hall to add depth at C

Olynyk cant be the only big in case Poeltl is injured

  6. My hot take is that i’d seriously consider knecht at 6 if the other wings are gone by then

  7. Ultimately when it comes down to it, it’s so hard to get really excited about anyone other than Risacher, so I’m going to be fine with whatever choice the FO makes with our own pick if we have it, and the Indiana and Detroit picks.

Although I reserve the right to have VERY STRONG OPINIONS by draft day.

  8. These draft rankings are always so funny because it’s pure recency bias.

I still think Cody Williams is that dude. He reminds me a bit of Brandon Ingram offensively
