  1. The weather sucked. The wind was crazy all 3 days. I wouldn’t worry too much about it honestly.

We move on. My only take away is that Ohtani is almost unlocked (should have 2 more homers if not for the crazy wind). Maybe he already is.

If that’s truly the case then… the league is absolutely fucked.

Edit: I can’t wait until all of our guys are playing at their best at the same time. Exciting times.

  2. Ohtani goes up to a .944 OPS as the dodgers fall 8-1. Is this what it’s like getting Tungsten O’Doyle

  4. Least it wasn’t a shutout! A few positives to take away from it all so that’s good. Ohtani & Teo looking great, Yama was more what you’d expect and managed to get out of 2 bases loaded jams which is honestly great to see. On to the next one!

  5. Losing is part of the game. We would’ve lost either way the way our offense was.

I have doubts it would’ve been 8-1 though. The rain delay deliberation had a huge impact on the number of errors and runs scored. Dodgers barely put any balls in play so the Cubs weren’t impacted the same way. Miggy Ro didn’t earn that error.

    Shoutout to my man Yarbrough.

Fuck today’s umpiring crew in particular.

  6. If Bobby didn’t have a meltdown and if Walker was healthy this would’ve been a sweep just saying

  7. Send Stone back to AAA and make moves for some good pitchers before the trade deadline

  8. Saturday was Wrigley’s largest crowd since 2019. Mookie was right.

But on a serious note I’m just glad to be out of Wrigley. Hate that we always have to play here in April when the weather is shit. Cubs look good. It’ll be interesting to see how well their pitching holds up but that defense is elite.

Bats disappeared today but otherwise the big bats look fine. Ohtani has finally hit his stride. Teoscar is a beast. Lux, Outman, CT3, and Kiké need to figure it out. This is looking like 2022 where the middle of the lineup was a black hole but instead it’s the bottom this year.

  9. All of the people in this thread praising Ohtani and saying he is locked in (don’t get me wrong, he is) don’t realize that he still has like two higher gears that he can and will reach throughout the season. You’re in for an amazing ride y’all.

  10. I don’t care we lost. I am just happy we made it through the game without someone getting injury. Watching them play in that crazy rain was just scary. The grounds crew gets my respect for working so hard in a losing battle. MLB needs to not put completion of a game over player safety, even if they are just trying to make it through the top of the 5th.

  11. Other teams and their fans are gonna gloat and troll all season when they win against us, mind as well get used to it. There’s no point in making excuses, especially in a place like r/baseball. This series was weird but April is about staying healthy and not putting yourself in a hole W-L wise. They’ve already gone up 3 games on the division, while letting Buehler, Treinen, and Grater take their time getting healthy.

  12. Where were all these trolls yesterday? You guys do realize there’s the rest of the season to play out. Can’t wait to see you guys here in LA.

  13. Not gonna lie, I would rather trade Outman’s bat for Miguel Vargas. Vargas has been lighting up OKC – granted, it’s a small sample size but I do think he’s fighting hard to prove he should be in LA.
