I just want this to be forever. But the reality is we have been playing shit teams.
Edit: not trying to be negative, I’m excited with our team. And the young talent. Just wanted to temper my own expectations.
Pirates are also the best team in baseball
If a time traveler went back to the year 2023 and said the Red Sox in 2024 would have the best pitching in the entire MLB, no one would believe it.
So it’s possible they didn’t spend big money on average pitching this winter because they felt good about what they had.
I don’t think we succeeded just because we faced weak lineups. This new strategy is working. My questions are, how long will it take the rest of the league to adjust to it and will Bailey and co be able to adapt?
The Angels were pretty hot coming into the series so it was cool seeing the pitching shut them down.

Been a fan since 67. Have NEVER seen a stat like this. Unexpected and delightful!
Damn, that’s better than twice as good as the #8 team listed there…
At the end of the season if the Red Sox end up in the top half of the league in terms of ERA I will be pleasantly surprised. Do I think they’ll hold a sub-2 ERA through the season or even by in the top 5 by the end of it? Absolutely not.
