This Day in Kings’ History (2017): Bob Miller signs off

On April 9, 2017, Bob Miller signed off for the very last time. In 44 seasons, Miller called 3,353 Kings games, was honored by the Hockey Hall of Fame with the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award in 2000, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006.

  1. At the time, I posted that he signed off in the most fitting way possible for a long-time Kings announcer – calling a meaningless April game for a team well out of the playoffs. I was told that my comment was relayed to Bob, who found it hilarious. No idea if that’s true, but I like to think that it is.
