NHL To Utah Could be Sooner Than Expected! (Nothing Confirmed Yet Though)

The same source reports that we could hear as soon as April 18th what the verdict is. Also that three things are being discussed: – Sell the team (Likely to the Smith Group) & permanent relocation – Relocate Temporarily to SLC & Back to AZ after arena is built – Sell it with the option of coming back as an expansion team if the owner can get an arena built in AZ @ Gambo987 on twitter
So I’ve heard that this reporter isn’t the greatest source for things, but I’m not too familiar with NHL news. Get the impression he’s no Woj or Shams.
This was all covered on 97.5 today and yesterday. They interviewed a sister station’s host and it sounds like we’ll 100% know by June. The biggest thing they said was AZ would be promised an expansion team if they sold. But getting new land sounds like a mess rn.
Would SLC be a better place than Phoenix for an NHL team? Doesn’t really seem like it
Cool! Would it be weird if the team stayed the Coyotes? I for one would like the Golden eagles back. ( I know I know. The golden knights exist)
Looks like I’ll have to understand what a hockey is. As a Utahn, I am a Jazz fan because they play in Utah, so I learned what basketball is to be a Jazz fan. If Hockey arrives in Utah, I’ll need to understand how hockey is played, to be a fan of the Utah team
As an AZ based Jazz fan, this makes me sad.
But happy for all you bros in Utah.
Would love to see the coyotes stay here, but ownership has been more than shitty.
got my eye on the arena shell game in Utah . No secret that Ryan wants the NHL arena in Draper Prison area. Badly kept secret that he wants the Jazz there too
It will be a constant story about “the Delta Center is soooo bad for hockey”
Then comes “OMGosh! We’re building a state of the art hockey arena in Draper”
Then comes “Its so state of the art , why wouldn’t you have NBA there as well.”
Then comes “bye bye SLC, don’t cry MLB team is coming soon”
I’m already a Bruins fan and have been following hockey for two seasons now! Looks like I’m a Yote fan too now if this deal goes through!
