I think we got 3 more good years from Jrue
I would wager that last year might be a little rough but this contract very well could be trade filler down the line, I really don’t see a downside to this UNLESS it effects our ability to sign Derrick
Cause best believe teams are gonna be after Derrick in free agency, we need to do everything it takes to keep him longterm, to me he’s the third most important player on the roster in terms of who we need to hang onto
As long as we have the jays we have a top 3 seed and a playoff run, but Derrick is the ultimate glue that keeps it all together

Jrue Holiday falling off of a cliff at some point is not a foregone conclusion. In this city, time and time again, we have watched older players excel.
We’re currently watching a guy do it better than almost anybody *ever* at his position at 37. That guy is on our team. Like Al, Jrue has the chops to pivot to becoming more of a defensive specialist/court extender and still be worth the contract if need be. Times have changed.
This contract is a no brainer, showing that Wyc isn’t fucking around – and I think Jrue isn’t either.
I’ve heard this so many times and they never manage lol I think we gave Jrue his Al horford max contract
