[Fillipponi] Sources: The Steelers have had internal discussions about trading for Bengals WR Tee Higgins. They love the player. But there’s questions about acquisition cost and his next contract cost. Plus there’s the issue of the Bengals trading him in the AFC North.

  1. Tell ’em the price is a 1st and a 2nd. Gonna cost a lot more to trade him within the division.

  2. They may have fleeced the bears for Fields and on Claypool, they won’t pull the same shit for Higgins. Minimum to get talks started is a 1st and 2nd. FTS

  3. I want Tee to stay in Cincy. But since that’s kinda a pipe dream, I want him to go where he will do well.

Except to Pittsburgh. Unless they give us their entire 2024 and 2025 drafts.

  4. I bet their number would get blocked in two seconds if they even tried to call the Bengals

  5. Let’s just say for the heck of it, they give us their first round this year and next year for Higgins. Would you be more upset Higgins is a Steeler or more happy that we supposedly fleeced the Steelers?

  6. We will not trade him to any AFCN team unless the trade makes them worse. It will have to be for players, not picks.

  7. Ah for you Steelers we have a special discount; this year and next year’s draft class I think is a good deal in their favor

  8. It has to be a very high price.

If the Bengals tag Higgins twice, then he signs away as a free agent, Cinci gets a 3rd round supplimental draft pick, unless it’s a year when they sign another top free agent.

The value of 2 seasons of Tee Higgins plus a 3rd round pick starts at a 1st round pick, should probably be more. If they trade him next offseason, it’s a bit less.

Cinci has no incentive to help a rival and take away from their own team unless the price is very high. For Pittsburgh, it’s at least a 1st and 2nd. For a non-conference team, it’s probably a 1st.

  9. 3 first round picks, or their first & second in both the ’24 & ’25 drafts.
No negotiation, and Fuck The Steelers

  10. We’re at the time of year where stupid rumors and pipe dreams in the draft like bowers falling to us is spammed everywhere 24/7.

  11. Duke isn’t going to make the Steelers better unless they offer a ridiculous over the top trade. They are clearly comfortable with his cap hit so that’s not an issue either.

  12. Steelers: “Are you interested in trading Tee Higgins?”

Bengals: “If the price is right.”

    Steelers: “What is the price?”

Bengals: “Your next 69 1st round picks. FUCK THE STEELERS!”

    Steelers: “😥”

  13. STG if another MF posts some bullshit about Tee in this subreddit..

  14. If we don’t trade him elsewhere, he could easily end up in our division. Trade him; Burrow took full contact, so he can deal without Higgins.

  15. Honestly, given the uncertain vibes from Higgins, I’d take a 1st or two 2nds.

If we could get their first, or their second this year and next year, we can get a really good DT and WR prospect this year.

The WR class is deep, and we could even package two 2nds to trade back into the late first if need be, if we grab a DT at our spot, and want to move back in for a WR.

There is not a ton of trade value for top WRs in the 1b category (aka not Jefferson/Chase/Hill/etc) as this draft is deep, and the money Tee will want will be huge.

  16. I mean, I assume A LOT of teams have had internal discussions about Tee. It’d be dumb not to if you’re in need of a receiver. So very tired of Tee trade posts.

  17. Lmaoo, all jokes aside if they actually went through with it, the steelers wouldn’t have a single draft pick for the next decade

  18. Fuck a first round pick, you’d have to give me your eternal soul to send Tee to Pittsburgh. I’d rather play for Pittsburgh myself (knowingly the first hit I take would likely cripple me) before I’d send Tee to Pittsburgh. Go fuck yourselves, it ain’t happening.

  19. He can go there for the right price by me, he won’t have anyone solid to throw to him

  20. You don’t make your path to the playoffs harder. Zero chance he goes to the steelers
