Ladd McConkey UGA All-22 Cut Ups

I know we’re likely not taking him but he reminds me so much of a lesser version of Chris Olave. Clean route runner who’ll get 700-900 yards for an extended stretch of his career. Santonio Holmes is another comp.

  1. Dude runs routes at an NFL level. Just needs to stay healthy and get better against press coverage. Emmanuel Sanders-esque. He’s my target in the first if not OT and honestly kind of a toss up for that spot with AD Mitchell.

  2. If we cut Rice for some reason, then yes.  I’ll take Ladd.  But in the NFL he’s a slot receiver.  Which we already have with Rice.

His film is fun, but his body couldn’t handle the dozen game seasons in college and he’s never asked to go 1 on 1 against a corner on deep routes.  His production was meh even for a guy on a loaded team. He looks great against zone, but you can find that in later rounds this year.

I like Ladd, I really do.  In a specific role.  But he’s the type of gamble I would take in the 2nd round and not the first.

  3. Georgia boy in KC checking in. Ladd is that guy. He would open up a lot for Mahomes and the KC offense.

  4. I know he tested out okay but people should really be aware of that he never was really the man at Georgia. He’s dealt with injuries and had 400 some yards last year with 2 TDs.

To put it into perspective, Mecole hardman had a bigger final year at Georgia than Lad did.

Obviously stats in college are not the main thing you look at but it is worth noting the guys we’re comparing him to where all guys who produced with thousand plus double digit touchdown seasons not to mention the fact that they didn’t have the talent around them to carry them as Lad did.

There’s no way other than with Lad you’re projecting and hoping he can be something you haven’t seen yet.

I’m a hard no on him in relation to other guys that will be going around the same time he will.
