  1. To be fair to outman, he made solid contact right at someone tonight. Chris Taylor and lux however

  2. I don’t care about 100+ wins, we need some small ball and run manufacturing ASAP. Or at least by postseason.

  3. Never thought I’d get to the point of the season where I’m desperate to get Heyward back, but here we are.

  4. Lux is one the worst things to have happened to this team. He should’ve been dealt years ago.

  5. Our bottom of the order is 4th worst, 2nd worst, and 9th worst in the entire league. And that’s with getting good production from Barnes, Rojas, and Outman finally coming alive. So Kike, Taylor, and Lux are amazingly bad to start the year.

  6. Outman is fine right now he’s starting to put it together but dear god Taylor and lux look lost. I feel bad too because I want to see lux succeed

  7. When is the Taylor slack gonna end. It’s been a few years now that his productivity has been dismissible

  8. I can see Outman, Lux getting hot. But with Kike, CT3 this is who they’ve been for the past couple of seasons. I would be shocked if they either can reach .215 this season

  9. Way worse than this is our current pitching.

We are putting up 7 runs and losing. Run production isn’t the problem.

  10. How long are we going to wait for Lux to unlock his potential? He can’t play defense and his bat is at best above average, at least in the years before he got injured.

Outman is going through a sophomore slump so I’m sure he’ll come around. Still early.

Ct3 i will drive him to wherever the other team wants him or worse, DFA him eat the money on his contract, and let the younger prospects get their shot.

  11. Outman has been figuring it out. Taylor looks like he’s never hit a baseball in his life. It feels like he’s either completely on fire or a veritable black hole of offense.

With all of that said, if you score 7 runs and lose, it’s not the bats that are the problem.

  12. I know Taylor is the worst of the lot, but I’m most eager to see Lux get going. Mostly because I have seller’s remorse about Michael Busch.

  13. I wish the mods would keep track of comments throughout the year, some of y’all have the most ridiculous and reactionary takes it’s unbelievable. It’s mid April. We scored 7 runs including Muncy and Teo going yard but some of you HS freshman baseball benchwarmers want to move them toward the BOTTOM of the lineup where they get fewer ABs. Just cause you can comment doesn’t mean you should

  14. Taylor’s last 2 seasons .220, 90 OPS+ and a 39% k rate. If not for his contract he’d be DFA’d soon.

  15. The main problem here is CT3, Kike, and Rojas are all the same player at this point. Solid defenders who can play multiple positions but are rarely a threat at the plate. Lux and Outman are young guys with potential but are still trying to put the pieces together. The bottom of the order and bench have no variety at all. No consistent power threat, no consistent contact hitter, just a complete mess.

  16. I was just talking about this with my son, those are the only guys on the line up that don’t finish their swings. Dudes are going to be in a slump until they fix it.

  17. I’m staying positive. Outman and Lux are making contact which will eventually result in some decent at bats as the season progresses. Taylor’s swing looks great, but he’s just very late recognizing pitches, meaning it’s all mental for him. As soon as he gets a couple of good games he’ll pop off.

  18. I could see how bad CT3 was playing but didn‘t know he was hitting .033
    He really likes #3

  19. I get this post, but when your team scores 7 runs…you shouldn’t have to look at the offense for scapegoats. The pitching needs to be better, or else they can score 6-7 runs each day and still lose like last night. The game shouldn’t have been in extras.

Again I get the frustration seeing 0 after 0 coming up the board. But the Offense been in the top in almost all categories, they’re not the problem last night and in most of the losses so far.

As long as the top guys and those that follow from 4-6 do their things, Dodgers will score a bunch.

But Look at the pitching ranking. They’re not horrible but plenty of room for improvement. If your team needs more than 7-8 runs to win, you’re not winning shit at the end of the season. Pitching dictate if you make it to the dance, how far you go and is the key to every champions.

The 7-9 are exactly what they are…7-9 hitters. If they were any better they wouldn’t be hitting in those slots lol.

  20. Why is Taylor still in this line up? I really love the guy and he’s had some big hits over the years but he doesn’t belong in this line up anymore. I have faith in outman and a little in lux.

  21. Does anyone have an explanation to why we continue to struggle with situational hitting/small ball. Year after year it seems like we can’t ever do the simple things that win games like getting a sac fly or moving runners over. That Teoscar strikeout was one of the worst at bats I’ve seen all year. The Padres had a plan for him there and he fell right into it. How did he not know that they were gonna give him low garbage if most of us knew that was coming?

  22. They still scored 7 runs. The killer has been multiple fails by the bullpen. You don’t really deserve to win too many games where your bullpen gets torched after the starter leaves.

  23. Pages needs to be called up to replace CT3 in LF. CT3 needs to be placed on the 10 day to get his head right

  24. It’s still a bit early, but I’m old enough to remember getting downvoted this offseason for saying we still have a top-heavy lineup

  25. I’ve never seen Taylor look so lost out there.

And with that being said, he is still way, way more useful than Lux. Gotta pull the trigger soon here. It hasn’t bit us in the ass all year except for last night.
