I was driving my sister to college in Massachusetts. Driving home I got a few texts and I remember fucking flying down the NJ turnpike so I could get close enough to Philly to pick up the radio and hear about it.
His last call was his most iconic.
Anything I want to say will fail to capture how much he meant to so many of us Phillies faithful. HK the voice of God.
Listening to the radio broadcast that afternoon and hearing everyone try to keep from crying was… man.
Harry the K shopped at the same supermarket as I did. He remembered my name after one brief conversation in line. After that he always greeted me by name when crossing paths. A wonderful person and broadcating legend. very much missed..
So appropriate he passed in the broadcaster’s booth.
This and Gary Papa passing hit really hard
🥹 miss him. Wasn’t even old enough to fully appreciate him and I miss him.
