Very competitive league but Leafs need to do better
So, a lesson for the Leafs, I guess, from the 2nd and 3rd periods: keep the puck in the offensive zone and away from Samosonov. If Keefe really insists on playing him.

Can only hope the Redwings make the playoffs this year. It has been too long since the Wings made the playoffs. Thanks to former GM Holland destroying the team with terrible contracts
We've been waiting so long to get back to the playoffs.
What a great game! Toronto showed their grit, but the Red Wings showed just a bit more. That’s what makes hockey such a fabulous sport! Toronto had nothing to gain and tried their heart out to win. Absolutely fabulous!
Whoever thought the red wings were gonna be eliminated tonight were DEAD WRONG! We live to fight another day!

The Red Wings have been getting better every year with Yzerman, now they are showing they can compete with Boston, Tampa, Florida and Toronto. The Wings have a home and home against Montreal here is the issue, they play hard teams hard but the Canadiens play the Wings the same way

Damn did Detroit win the cup there?
This game was a dark moment in the history of the NHL. An official opened the door and stuck a wedge into it convincingly to reward overt diving in the NHL. It will change hockey going forward – mark my words. If that Wing's player had rolled just one or two more times, he would have ended up laying up against the Zamboni! What an egregious act of cheating, rewarded by a grossly incompetent ref. It makes little difference to the fact that the Leafs continue to have defensive issues AND Keefe keeps putting Brodie out there. ?!?!? It also makes no difference to the fact that the Wings are going no-where from here. GREAT D, decent fwds, but they badly need a goalie! I'm afraid it's time for Keefe to go.
