Silver lining: Nazar is sick and we’re also now locked into a top four draft pick! Let’s fucking go!
turns out crosschecking a guy in the back is in fact a penalty seth jones
maybe I’m wrong, but idk how that’s not offsides but whatever Nazar scored
* Frank Nazar made his NHL debut. He scored his first NHL goal on a breakaway.
* Athanasiou scored on a rebound on a rush.
* The Canes dominated possession and scored 2 PPGs.
* The Hawks challenged the Canes’ ENG for offsides, but it was upheld.
Scratching Blackwell so raddysh can play? Playing tyler Johnson on the first unit over nazar? Matching bedard line against aho line? Not putting nazar on the 6-5 but putting Johnson and foligno on who were both awful today. These are some questionable choices
I can’t wait until Mrazek can goaltend for a real team. Also lfg Nazar.
Positive: Nazar got his first NHL goal. And Reichel got an assist. Both those guys looked pretty good tonight.
Not a horrible loss considering the caliber of team. Future is bright.
– Nazar scored a goal and overall looked very good out there, especially for his first NHL game, against one of the top teams. He’s been coached well in Michigan
– Athanasiou scored, probably could have had a hat trick if his hands could keep up with his legs (story of his career)
– Got absolutely blasted by a top team in our zone, we stood no chance in this game, that’s for sure. Got a couple of lucky rush chances, but that’s it
– Del Mastro looked a bit rough at times, but he looks like he just needs to fix a few mistakes and he’ll be an NHL defenseman. Seems like we have a logjam of NHL level or near NHL level defensemen all of a sudden
– Thought it was a good challenge, looked offside to me

Frank Nazar’s first NHL goal was one of the highlights of the season.
I believe this L means we can’t finish above 31st, right?
I like Richardson a lot, and none of the tanking is his fault, but I’m curious how would everyone evaluate him at this point? I think he’s shown some good things, and the team is obviously still fighting for him, but I also think that if you can get a clear NHL caliber upgrade or the potential next big thing like David Carle then you jump on it. Thoughts?
I feel like this is the value of having some of the kids play a few games at the end of the season: you get to see who can hold their own at the NHL level, and then the front office can use that data to help inform their offseason decisions. So far so good for Nazar and Del Mastro.
Clinched 2nd worst record. Let’s get that #1 pick.
1 thing I hope the team cleans up going into next year is taking charge of receiving passes. I’m tired of seeing passes somewhat in the middle of 2 players and neither picking up the puck thinking the other will grab it.
Finished the season 0-7-2 in attendance. This pic of a stranded Tommy Hawk sums up the season accurately. Excited for the future though.

See y’all at the draft lottery! Already excited for next season…our young guys looked stronger than our vets during a lot of this season.
At least we’re not Coyotes fans.
It’s amazing that the Hawks actually had the lead for significant portions of that game.
Nazar was one of the best players on the ice tonight. The future is bright. No more tanking please
