[MLB Pipeline] Orelvis Martinez, who’s hit 28+ homers in three straight seasons, sends his 1st of the year 425 feet. The @BlueJays’ No. 2 prospect (MLB No. 82) had 6 doubles in his first 11 games with @BuffaloBisons in ’24.

1. He’s insane, he’s cutting his K rate while still doing damage. He’s only 22.

2. Guy has done everything asked from him. Cut down his k rate, improved his walk rate, he’s hitting righties better right now, guy is a beast, and he’s only 22.

   Credit to him for doing what he’s doing. And that’s a tank

3. So if this works, next year Schneider LF, Varsh CF, Orelvis 2B?

5. If this guy lights up AAA, what kind of roster moves can we make to get this guy in the lineup? I have to think we’ll have to move some infielders at some point.

6. We’re getting close to an interesting decision.

   Biggio’s best position is 2B. Davis Schneider’s best position is 2B. Orelvis’ best position is 2B.

   Cade Doughty plays 2B and 3B… and is actually older than Orelvis, but is hanging out in AA.

   Fortunately Kasevich has the good foresight to not play 2B in AA.

   Addison Barger had moved to third… but is getting a bunch of time of the OF now.

   Leo Jimenez is blocked by Bichette…for now.

   That’s a lot of infielders! Not even thinking about future Bichette replacement Arjun.

   I assume a couple will be part of a mid-year deal to correct what ever problem exists at the deadline. Jimenez, Barger and maybe even Orelvis should likely be on a big league roster this year.

7. great to see his success in AAA but I’m not a really big fan of him.

8. Its time for a call up… not sure who you would bench but I have to think he is a better option than varsho, kk, biggio, or ikf in the everyday lineup
