TBF it was fake outrage because Kidd said the quiet part out loud.
Bet the gambling partners got upset because they can’t place odds on those games or use anything as props when it’s announced that one team will not be competitive.

I have to disagree. There is a huge difference in my mind if a team couldn’t care less if a game is won or lost (this year), or directly trying to lose to gain something (last year).
It’s the internet. Outrage is king.
I would bet everything I have that literally every other fan base would have wanted their team to do the exact same thing.
I think the real outrage is that 4 or 5 teams tanked the entire season, and no one batted an eye. The mavs tanked two games and it was a scandal.
There is a difference between losing on purpose and resting players before the playoffs. The former is anti competitive the latter isn’t. Not saying we shouldn’t have tanked, obviously it was the right call. Also fully expect to be downvoted because this sub thinks every explanation is an endorsement of what you’re explaining.
