  1. Injury issues aside he’s the 2nd best QB in the draft not a throw he can’t make. Would only take him if we got a major haul

  2. Penix and not Nix to me indicates they’re focused on swinging for the fences at QB rather than maximize floor.

Very different than Bill who aimed for a high floor guy who wouldn’t get in the teams way, as opposed to a guy who would elevate the team on his own.

  3. Good due diligence but I’d probably only take him if we got offered like 4 firsts from the Vikings and we took him at 23. I don’t think he’s our long term answer due to injuries but he’s a good player, would like him if he didn’t have the injury history. Medicals are clear but experts say those injuries don’t show unless you do shifts and quick deceleration which we haven’t seen

  4. Looks like we’re meeting with all the top QBs besides Williams who we have basically no chance of getting. Good to see.

  5. For fans that want the pats to be immediately good again, you should be happy about this.

We trade down and get penix + brian thomas or someone of that caliber, then still get a legette or someone in the 2nd, and OT’s for the following 2 – 3 rounds we’re arguably the best team in the division.

Health being equal, i cant say maye is better than penix because they both have crazy arm talent. And penix even with the injuries is still more athletic, however i understand because of injury history you may not want to make use of it. Idk if pro athletes are making use of kneesovertoes type of tendon strengthening but if they do, he’ll be just fine.

  6. This makes me think we’re going to trade back and take him. He’s been too detached from the team. I’m thinking they were trying to keep their interest secret. And all the talk of not wanting to trade back was just talk to drive the price up.

  7. Trade down and draft Penix? Yes.

Even though he seemingly broke down at the Apple Cup and was led off the field under a blanket like a child.

  8. Draft MHJ, trade a 2nd and a 3rd to get into the end of the 1st if he’s still there around 24.

You get a legitimate #1 WR, and a QB with some potential.

  9. Penix’s knees are what scare me away from him, if it wasn’t for that tbh I’d honestly be all for drafting him.

  10. gotta do our research but helllll no i would hate watching him throw the ball each week.

  11. If the scouts thought Penix was the best QB available how should they play it?

    A) Draft him at 3

    B) Trade down and risk not getting him?

  12. I’m both surprised and not surprised by this. On one hand, they sent literally no one who matters to the Washington Pro Day despite the fact that he and several other top players were there. Instead, opting to send everyone who matters to watch Daniels and Maye. So I’m surprised they brought him in given that.

On the other hand, we need a QB so it only makes sense that they’d be meeting with all of the ones considered the top guys at their position. And he is considered by most to be the 4th or 5th best guy in this year’s QB class.

At the end of the day, this is probably nothing more than a formality. They’ve show far, far, far more interest in Daniels, Maye, and even McCarthy than they have Penix or Nix.

  13. Where’s that FuckHarambe guy who was having a meltdown the Pats weren’t doing their due diligence bc they hadn’t talked to Penix at all

  14. Penix seems like a really poor gamble and my gut tells me he will probably not even be playing football by his 28th birthday.

I have sympathy for the young man because of everything he’s gone through, but those two ACL tears already seem to have taken a toll on his mobility (even if he remains quick in a straight line) and he’s had a pair of shoulder surgeries, too. Even if we draft a couple of big kids for the OL who make the ground tremble before them – it’s tough to see this pick working out for us.
