  2. my hope is this is just some gamesmanship by the bucks to make it hard for the Pacers to gameplan for in game 1

  3. The game isn’t for 6 days. Lots of time to heal up and progress. I’m not the same kind of athlete that Giannis is, but I injured my ankle when I played soccer in high school and couldn’t put any pressure on it. Thought I wouldn’t be able to play in the last 4 games of the year literally just in the next 7 days. I was able to go full speed after 4 days and was ready to play.

    If I, a below average athlete with no advanced medical team and only one visit to the athletic trainer, can heal up in 4 days, Giannis definitely can also considering the other worldly return from getting his knee bent backwards in just 8 days to lead us to a title. Not saying that he’ll play, but making a determination this far out is highly unlikely

  5. FWIW if I’m the bucks and Giannis is probable/definite I’m saying doubtful. If he’s doubtful/out I’m saying probable.

    That absolutely doesn’t mean that’s what the bucks are doing but there’s a big incentive to mislead your opponents.

  7. I like the Bucks chances better in the initial games of the series before their legs fall off later on. Old ass Brook and Crowder may have some more spring in their steps with the week off. Middleton will be the freshest he has been since the season began. The week of rest helps the Bucks tremendously more then it does the Pacers. It is our Godsend.

    Even without Giannis I feel this is really a must win game.

  8. All I wanted since 2021 is a healthy Giannis and Khris for the playoffs.

    3 Damn years in a row with either one or both injured.

    This is why Horst went after another superstar that can carry the team as Injuries by now are to be expected. Dame it’s your time to shine and build yourself a legacy.

  9. If we cant get by the Pacers without Giannis we have no chance at getting out of the East. Sit him the whole series.

  10. All I’ll add is that everything this week and into next on Giannis is going to be hedgy, [myself included](https://www.threads.net/@jimowczarski/post/C5ylIN6usMr). It’s soft tissue, and the team isn’t going to say one thing or another until they have to file an injury report. And my guess, is that he’ll either be questionable or doubtful, just so they have the option of moving his status up/down without running afoul of the league.

  11. Sorry to say but if he doesn’t heal up enough by game 3 then don’t force him or let him force himself back out there. We don’t need a more serious injury happening that could derail next season too.

    If they happen to win the series without him somehow then reevaluate for the second round but his long term health needs to be the priority.

    This all could have been avoided if they hadn’t been letting him play through this leg injury in all those meaningless games that they lost anyways. He should have been sitting for the playoffs weeks ago.

  15. I think Giannis’ status is going to be a lot like last year. When he plays will be fully dependent on how badly the team needs him to return. Any return prior to Game 3 would both surprise and concern me.

  16. I’d say keep him on the bench until we lose a game tbh. This isn’t the type of thing to rush back from.

    Nobody else to blame. Even without Giannis, this is still the best roster he’s been on.

  18. He should be sat game 1. Cuz if we can win we can keep letting him get rest. Problem is losing game 1 lol then we might have to push
