  1. Well Suzyn, that’s broadcasting.

I’m going to cry in the cabin. Anyone wanna join?

  2. Went from rumor, to press conference Friday where he’ll probably retire, to retired in the span of an hour.

Hope his health improves and he can enjoy retirement.

  3. I’m going to brace for my down votes, but happy to see him go. Wish him the best, but I could not stand listening to him. Always felt like he was trying to be bigger than the team/game itself, especially with the cringe HR calls.

  4. Well deserved. My cherished possession will be a ball I have signed from him.

  5. *And now the end is here
And so I face that final curtain
My friend I’ll make it clear
I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain
    I’ve lived a life that’s full
I traveled each and every highway
    And more, much more
I did it, I did it my way*

  6. Grew up listening to him on the radio whenever my dad had the game on. His iconic home run calls were amazing. Truly going to miss him

  7. My wife who is not a baseball fan loves him. We are both anticipating lots of tears for his final broadcast.

  8. Will forever be the voice of the Yankees. A voice that will forever be synonymous with baseball and summers and excitement. I hope he has the retirement he deserves and thank you will never be enough from us as fans as we are forever indebted to him.

  9. This had to be a health issue for it to be so sudden. Hope he’s okay. I can’t even fathom radio broadcasts without John. He’s the only radio voice of the Yankees I’ve known for my life. This is a sad day, he’s a legend.

  10. Is Suzyn still around? I don’t live in New York anymore so haven’t listened to a broadcast in a few years.

  11. I am sad for my ears. I am happy for John. Absolute legend. I hope he can enjoy his remaining years knowing the impact he had on generations of Yankees fans. 🫡
