ESPN Prediction: The Cavs will take down the Magic in six games or fewer

The squad needs to come out and make sure of it for a strong 48 minutes from game 1 and on. Ready for playoffs!

Here’s more from the ESPN post:

The Cavs will take down the Magic in six games or fewer. The Magic had an excellent season behind tough defense and relying on Paolo Banchero to provide the offense. In the playoffs, though, the Cavaliers have more scoring from the perimeter in addition to their defensive big men. I think Mitchell will prove healthy enough to play at his All-Star level, and he and Garland will be too much for the Magic to overcome.

For Orlando – What to watch in the first round:

Banchero's offensive possessions against Evan Mobley will be fascinating to watch and could go a long way in deciding who wins the series. Banchero rapidly developed this season as a scorer and passer and proved he has the potential to become an offensive superstar. He'll need to be great for Orlando to avoid scoring lulls. Mobley, meanwhile, appears to be on his way to Defensive Player of the Year contention in the coming seasons.

Orlando prediction: Win or lose in the first round, Banchero will be a household name by the end of the Magic's postseason behind multiple 30-point efforts.

  1. Mitchell is going have to carry for the entire playoffs.

I think this is a good set up for the Cavs. If PHI get 7th seed. That bottom part of the bracket is brutal. You have the Bucks and the Pacers. If the Pacers sink in their shots, they may be able to take the Bucks to 5 games and move onto the next round.

If it comes down to PHI/NYK, that is just another brutal matchup and will likely go 7. Whoever wins it will go against the red hot Pacers, and then that itself is another brutal matchup.

For the Cavs. This is a good series for the team to get into the right mentality and get hot. If we take the series with ease and go against Boston, we could give Boston a run for their money in some games. Would we likely win, maybe, maybe not. But for us to really make it to the Finals, everyone needs to be on board

  2. I’m as optimistic as anyone, but ESPN’s “analysts” have been revealing left and right that they don’t actually watch any of the games.

  3. I think Cavs in 6 is reasonable, but it’s so dependent on the state of Mitchell’s health. Cavs may take this one without too much drama, but they can lose to anyone if they play like they have played as often as not since the ASB. Hard to have much confidence in this team right now.
