  1. The Jays put on a pitching masterclass tonight. That’s the takeaway.

Bassitt was terrific. Mayza continues to round into form. Green is what he’s always been. Garcia is pitching the best stretch of his career.

  2. The thing about a 3-1 win that I love is, it counts the same as a 6-1 win.

C-Bass is settling into his 2023 form again.

  3. I don’t think it can be overstated how amazing Bassitt and Kirk work together. I can’t imagine Bassitt is an easy pitcher to work with.

  4. Wild opinion here. I think our pitching and defense is actually pretty good.

    I even enjoy watching it.

  5. The jays just beat the team with the best record in baseball and the second best ERA in baseball

Soto and Judge were both hitless

Kirk was 2/3 with a walk

    Yimi is still Himi

    Go win the series tomorrow

  6. Kiermaier simply cannot hit the baseball. But Aaron Judge can’t either so I guess it could be worse…

  7. I think we gotta enjoy this pitching and outfield defense. It’s pretty spectacular.

  8. ITS WHAT YOU WANT

^(also speaking of that other sub, shoutout to the guy in the Yankees GDT who said Varsho for Moreno “is the most win-win trade ever.” Rare dub from a Jankees fan)

  9. Vladdy walking into the visitor’s changerooms to dump gatorade on Gil for that win.

  10. Solid pitching win there.Bassit and Co. Really picked up for the 1 hit out of the top 4 tonight. Which good on them. You need your pitching staff to bring home wins as well.

  11. Mayza looked like himself again, Kirk had yet another good game, I like watching this team

  12. whomever is responsible for Madison’s outfits must be the same as Botterill and really needs to be ejected

  13. i don’t care much for anyone who says that these wins aren’t deserved because if we had walked hitters as much as the yankees did to us tonight i’m sure the same people would be saying that the loss would’ve been deserved

  14. That was awesome. Yimi is hot as hell. Looking forward to a fully healthy Jays pitching lineup.

  15. Just watching Vlady whale away at so many bad pitches makes me think back years ago to Barry Bonds. Whatever anybody thought of the guy it was amazing how he would take pitches and bring the pitcher into the strike zone. He would take two or three walks in a game and wait for the pitch he could hammer. But he would never help the pitcher by swinging at pitches off the plate.

Hard to say if Vlady is pressing or if he’s just made up his mind that this is the approach he’s going to take. Whatever it is it doesn’t seem to be working.

  16. The way that sportsnet plus handles games ending where they immediately try to replay it instead of just continuing the channel I was watching is so stupid…

Like why would I want to rewatch the game I just watched? Why does it become a VOD and I need to navigate back to whatever sportsnet channel the rest of the game coverage is on?

It’s such a bad user experience.

  17. Thinking about the starting pitching of the 2019 team, Trent Thornton lead the team in IP and 34 year old Clay Buchholz started 12 games. Just night and day compared to seeing Bassitt, Kikuchi, Berrios, Rodriguez and Gausman now. Regardless of how the season plays out I am cherishing the level of pitching talent the jays have built over the last couple season.

  18. Look at that. 3 in a row. Good things happen when I don’t watch. Nice to see Kirk’s bat come back to life.
