Genuinely stunning how similar that game was to G7 vs Miami

Tatum gets hurt 1st possession of game … Plays through it, but clearly not moving right
Walsh gets hurt 1st possession of game … Plays through it, but clearly not moving right

Jaylen has disaster game, a lot of turnovers trying to do too much
JD has disaster game, a lot of turnovers trying to do too much

Rob is feeling under the weather … Can’t play normal minute load

Celtics go on a mini run to make it kinda interesting in 3rd, but Miami answers

Honestly, they just looked tired. I know that’s easy to say in retrospect, but I really do think they were a little cooked. Queta in particular was really draggin’ ass and Walsh looked over it after the ankle tweak. Of course it’s hard to blame them, I’m just surprised they let OKC walk them up and down the court for an entire quarter.
I just got back from the game, and while the whole game part of it sucked, I’m still glad I went. Like if I were watching it from home I probably would’ve… not, after a while, because I understand the extent to which these things can Get To Me. But actually being there wasn’t bringing me down the same way. Maybe that was because the crowd was still into it, but I think it was because I realized just how special it is to go into something knowing it has the potential to bring an absolutely disproportionate amount of joy, and it’s good to recognize that a loss can only be this painful *because* of that joy. And I at least got to experience that joy at the ECF game :p
I wish I could’ve seen the team as the game ended and thanked them (somehow) for delivering something this meaningful to me. As it was, I was sitting behind the OKC bench… I guess I could’ve thanked them for standing for every big play and thus blocking my view of the carnage lol. (Man, but despite everything, it was still amazing to see the Maine team up close for the second half.)
Guess the big brother team has to avenge them and win it this year
