  1. I’d be interested in seeing this for just last season. How do you find stats like this?

  2. Well, doesn’t really explain that much about how over or under rated our QB is given that this was made using four complete seasons of data, and Levis has played a total of 9 games.

Two of those four seasons are AJ Brown seasons, so that might be affecting the Average Receiver Ranking. But, yeah, the fact that our Pass Block Ranking is in the “Call an Ambulance” territory with the Giants and Jets feels appropriate.

  3. From now on I’m just going to gesture broadly at this chart and every other chart that illustrates just how terrible we are at pass blocking whenever anyone suggests we should pick someone besides Joe Alt if he’s available at 7.

Bill Callahan is one of the greatest offensive line coaches of all time, but even he can’t get draw blood from a stone. I’d obviously trust him if he believed that our offensive line could be great with our current talent level, but I *highly* doubt that is the case. We had great offensive lines under Vrabel and his staff. It wasn’t poor coaching that caused us to go from among the best offensive lines in the league from 2018-2020 to among the worst in the league from 2021-2023. It was a notable talent drop. We aren’t going to fix the talent issue until we spend major draft capital on that unit, and there isn’t a better position on the OL to spend a premium pick on than LT, which happens to be the weakest position on the line for us right now. It just feels like the most obvious, self-selecting pick ever if Alt is there.
