Mike Kafka wasn’t interested in Seahawks OC job – the athletic

“I must’ve done a good job,” Kafka said during his first public comments since the 2023 season ended. “No, it was a great opportunity there. I love the people there. It was a great experience. But that’s what it was: a great experience, and I can carry that over into the future. … I’m here and I’m excited to be here with the Giants.”

Kafka said he was not interested in making a lateral move, even with the looming possibility he could lose his play-calling responsibilities this season with Daboll “looking into” taking on those duties himself.

Really???????

  1. I’m not too surprised, even if the relationship isn’t perfect Kafka just seems like a much more easy going person compared to wink

  2. What is he supposed to say? Oh yeah I really wanted that job, but the Giants held me hostage?

  3. What else could Kafka say?

“I wish I could have left, but the Giants didn’t let me even though they are not letting me call plays. They decided to give me a little more money to lower the morale hit.”

  4. Yeah. This is pure cap.

He would have taken just about any job had it been offered. Next year will be even tougher with guys like Ben Johnson and Bobby Slowik likely being on the market.
