[Kevin Acee] Padres recall Matthew Batten from Triple-A. Brett Sullivan has been optioned. This presumably means Jake Cronenworth will miss some time with calf injury, but that he hasn’t been placed on the IL would also seem to be encouraging.

I wonder how long batten will be up. We are facing a lefty today. Curious if it was a righty if pauley would be up
I love Jake but I’ve been hoping we trade him for some more depth or possibly for a long time 1b. I do hope this opens up the possibly of trading for Rizzo. Rumor that they are looking to offload him on the cheap. He’s doing a good job at 1b but I think he was way better at 2nd. I would love a win win trade for all parties involved. Also clearing up money for a kim contract. Unfortunately I think we end up trading 1 of them, we could use more bullpen depth, some more money off the books and a true 1b replacement. I don’t know if it would end up helping trying to sign soto in the off-season too. I really hope we fulfill Peter’s wish of having soto on the team long term. Resetting the tax helps alot with that it’s just up to new ownership to overspend again to go and lock up soto. We have great depth everywhere else except 1b and lf.
Can’t both Sullivan and Campusano play first base? It seemed like they had that covered already, I mean why would you carry three catchers otherwise. Unless this just means they got tired of Sullivan already on their own.

calf injury can be scary as it can lead to a torn achilles. not suprised they’re taking precaution to it
