Unleash the Wolf
#Broncos WR Courtland Sutton did not report Monday for voluntary workouts as he seeks a new contract, per source.
Sutton is going on his 10th starting QB in seven seasons and has only $2 million guaranteed left on his deal. He had 10 TDs in 2023 while ranking 56th in targets. pic.twitter.com/93rA35XdM4

No thanks he’s Devante Parker 2.0
Nope. No thanks. Slow as hell, often injured. We’re past the days of exclusively signing guys past their prime on the cheap. At least I hope.
Pass. 1st round qb. 2nd round Ot/wr. 3rd round ot/wr. Best available rest of the draft. No reason to pay another aging WR while we suck.
Sure, another bad slow aging wr

What about a guy a year younger than him who performed roughly the same with a much worse surrounding cast?

NO
Why is it news or noteworthy about a receiver signed to another team?
If he was potential trade bait he’d already have been dealt ages ago.
I feel like our roster is full of guys like him. Higgins or Ayuk could be WR1 trade targets but not Sutton.
In theory, Sutton was a perfectly fine trade target under his current contract ($17MM/year over the next 2) – we know how expensive Ridley got, and the WR market will continue to explode once Amon-Ra St. Brown and Nico Collins get extended, let alone the JJ/Chase/Lamb deals. 17 mil a year would be a relative bargain for a team with a ton of cap space for the next couple years, and for an X receiver who could allow us to either focus on OT at #34 or pick a dynamic Z WR over forcing an X in the draft. He is definitely better than anyone we’ve had at that spot in a long time and unlike Parker has at least maintained his level of play after 2019.
But since he wants a new contract too, that’s where I’m out. If I’m going to do trade compensation (even if it’s cheap, probably similar to the Cooper/Jeudy trades) and then add a big money deal, I’d at least want a younger player who can be in their prime for the length of our rookie QB contract, and ideally a player who has room to grow as the true #1 focal point of an offense.
Smart of Sutton wanting a new deal. His stats are going to suck without Jeudy and Wilson.
Sutton is OK but idk. Don’t think it improves the team that much. He’d be a good red zone threat. No one is going to trade big assets for him if he wants a new contract and the broncos aren’t going to just give him away for Pennies.
This could only go poorly IMO
Nooo. And while we’re at it stay tf away from drafting Keon Coleman
Unless the Wolf my ass. He sucks
Who?
“Unleash the Wolf”. What does that mean? What’s he done so far?
Oh let me guess you guys think he’s a wr1 too huh?
