Wait a second, I’ve been told multiple times Clay Holmes is not a real closer
Holmes does the one thing I want from a closer, he doesn’t give up homers
Cardiac Clay wins again
Hader only has one save after 9 appearances this year. Holmes has a league leading 6 saves.
So far this year has been a disaster for Hader.
We just got spoiled by sub 2 ERA Mo all these years
with the way the defense has been this season, his groundball-specialist approach may not be as productive as we’ve seen. let’s hope our boys get it together.
I too am deeply embarrassed that I thought we should sign Hader.
Holmes gives me heart palpitations, but he usually gets the job done.
It’s time to start a conversation
Like two weeks ago Haders numbers were better than Holmes lol
You truly love to see it
As great as Hader is at his best, he’s alternated good and bad years since 2019 (I believe). Whereas Holmes has been consistently good since coming to the Yankees.
This doesn’t jive with my anxiety
Holmes gets hate because he pitches to contact, and we’re not used to that from closers with this team.
Never pay relief pitchers. They’re completely fungible
Isn’t most of that from Hader where he let up like a dozen run in <2 innings?
Holmie has been scaring me lately but the numbers do not lie. He’s effective.
