  1. Just read the article. It seems like the turning point occurred when Blank checked BB’s references, particularly Robert Kraft. In terms of Morris though, we got some really cool notes:

-Morris absolutely blew away the Falcons staff with enthusiasm, football IQ, and personnel/strategy ideas

-After comparing notes, the Falcons had Morris as their preferred candidate, Mike Macdonald as their second candidate, and Bobby Slowik as their third candidate

I’m glad the Falcons were extremely thorough with this head coaching search. It really feels like they left no stone unturned

  2. Blank has always admired the “Patriot” way, from things I’ve read anyway. He wanted to model the Falcons after them, so it’s not surprising he respects Kraft’s word.

I’m sure the relationship soured over the years, but Kraft can’t argue with 6 fucking Super Bowl trophies. Yeah, he had Brady, but he also had some really terrific defenses and a revolving door of players around Brady, and they still made it work.

NGL, I’m glad we passed on BB. He might have been a terrific hire 15 years ago but not today.
