[Meisel] The Guardians traded cash for Padres pitcher Pedro Avila. He’ll join the roster in the coming days. They transferred Angel Martinez to the 60-day injured list. He has a fractured hamate bone in his hand.

Dang it.
Dang that really sucks for him. And hamate bone injuries kill a players season you can come back but your power is gone until the next year.
Sucks for Angel, he seemed like he could be one of the breakout players in the system this year.
Also interesting that he’s probably going to get close to a full year of service time this season even if he never makes his big league debut. Has been clocking major league service time all year since he was on the big-league 10-day IL, and now the 60-day.
Avila has to be on the 26, right? Predictions on that move?
Really sucks for Angel. On the bright side, as I mentioned on the post in r/baseball he’s getting MLB wages at least. I’m sure he’d rather be healthy and playing but at least he’s getting a nice paycheck while he’s out.
