They were bitching more at the Flyers yesterday, as if Torts had a shock collar around his neck to let him know every time the Red Wings scored a goal so he’d stop trying to win a game. They were also bitching about the tiebreaker rules that have been in place for YEARS. Win more games and it wouldn’t be an issue.
I’m laughing at the number of Wings fans cheering for us to get swept in the first round.
1. They’re watching from the couch and the wings probably wouldn’t have done any better than we’re going to (they lost all their games against the Rangers in the regular season, we won 2)
2. Not to be negative, but I don’t think many of our fans expect us to get past the rags anyway
But for real, I’ve lost so much respect for Wings fans since last night. If the Wings deserved to be in the playoffs, they would be. But they lost too many games, including two to us over the past few weeks.
It’s almost as if you have to win more games than ya lose… 🫣
everyone had their own struggles. philly lost 7 straight to fade out of that 3rd spot. they were lucky to even be in contention on the last day. same with many other teams. pitt went from utter garbage, got red hot, and lost to boston to cripple their hopes.
funny the way the race math worked but it worked in our favor. won’t complain.
Philly screwed themselves and have the audacity to complain about the goal called off. Both of those teams played like shit the past month and cost themselves their spot.
Wings fan here – none of us are mad at the capitals. We are fully aware we made our own bed. The game between det/wsh in Detroit last week was the difference. Wings got goalied

Wings fan here. Happy for you guys, excited to see you give the Rags a run for their money, but I would stop paying attention to whiney fans of other teams and focus on what’s next. You got some big games to worry about. Give em hell.
Well at least #41 can switch to sucking at golf now.
Man why does everyone focus on the minority of our fanbase and just assume everyone is like that just because the others dont say anything. I’m a wings fan and we don’t like the fans who whine and blame others. We call them “doomers” and they are a pest and do not represent us well. Caps are my b squad and have been forever. Ovi is probably my favorite non redwing, he’s funny and a great player, I hope he gets his record and you guys give rags at least a good fight.
I get being angry and frustrated and upset, I would be too, but why is it the Capitals’ fault, were they just supposed to not try and make the playoffs? I haven’t seen this much anger and bitterness from even Flyers fans or Penguins fans and that’s really gotta be saying something.
Not angry at the caps. I’m definitely rooting for you in the east.
HOWEVER, sens jerking their hate boner from the basement constantly when the wings didn’t even really do anything to them except sign a guy that was t admired in Ottawa- that’s fucking grating.
Yeah wings fans aren’t mad at the capitols, and if they are they are stupid, how can you be mad for a team winning games? Flyers a little bit upset about that but they didn’t know, if they didn’t take so long reviewing the called back goal sure maybe torts would have known in time, still doesn’t mean the flyers win, I think alot of wings fans are upset it’s the first time in over a decade we might have had something.

I remember an article last year with Ovi saying he wanted to still have a competitive team and not just be going for the goal record. Granted you aren’t cup favorites by any means but you are in the playoffs.
