I wish this stuff stayed internal. I understand you have to have something to push you and what not but after the way last season ended and the motto getting were built for this it just feels hollow.
“It takes more” than 1 great half of football.

Grit is / was a good motto for where The Lions were, but this “it takes more” is appropriate for now. Grit is a combination of passion and perseverance, which are characteristics of “Dan Campbell / Brad Holmes” guys. A shortcoming of grit is the potential to be overly committed to a belief or approach and reluctance to change one’s mind or tactics. Grit doesn’t necessarily speak to continuous improvement, “it takes more” could. I’m good with it – because it does.
