I think I would be happy with any of Catton, Lindstrom, or Iginla where we’re likely to draft. While one of these prospects will likely be better than the rest, I don’t think any are particularly bad choices for when the Flames are drafting.
I couldn’t be a GM man, this shit is impossible to predict/project. You do all the research, analysis, discussion, and math to determine your guy. And sometimes you get a Nail Yakupov and sometimes you get a Pastrnak. And it’s all on you, whether or not the 18 year old you draft plays a vital role in your team for the next fifteen years.
If we don’t get Tij, there’s another Flames legend’s kid who we might be able to grab with the Vancouver pick!
I bet one or two of these top defenseman will be available when we pick. I think some of these forwards like Iginla will go higher than predicted. KHL defenseman are considered riskier picks.
