[Henderson] The removal of the basketball hoop inside the auditorium at Seahawks HQs isn’t the only notable change to the VMAC under Mike Macdonald. Leonard Williams told us the wall that previously showed blown-up pictures of star players/famous moments from the Carroll era is now blank.

  1. Good. Can’t live in the past or off past players’ achievements. None of this should be a surprise and I don’t view it as denigrating Pete or his time here. Any new regime would want to start fresh and put their own stamp on things.

  2. Pain

I get that it might be the right thing to do, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt

  3. The culture was getting stale. Good thing they are trying to re-build it from the ground up instead of trying to be discount Pete.

  4. It’s sad for the fans to see but it is what is needed. Mike needs to create his own thing and so do the players.

  5. I feel more comfortable knowing MacDonald is going for a complete overhaul. And it appears he is taking it seriously, and expects any player in the building to do so too. I don’t know if they will be better, but I expect it will look different for sure.

  6. Rip the damn bandaid off.

Of course this isn’t a slight to the yesteryears of this franchise but if MM wants to creat his own damn wall, let him build his own damn wall. I want to see ‘Spoon’s own “The Tip” moment thru MM tenure.

  7. Makes sense if it was just Pete era stuff. Doesn’t sound like there were any Holmgren era pictures, etc.

  8. It’s all good, we’re gonna fill that wall with pictures from our next Super Bowl win

  9. This is good Feng Shui. He literally has to do this. Even if he decides to put the hoop back, he had to clear the space of its former energies.

  10. I’m sure if there were 2005 Suberbowl images on the wall when Pete arrived those would have been gone too.

  11. Instead of unceremoniously taking it down, it would have been good press to donate it to Boys and Girls club, a school, or some other organization. Or they could have auctioned it off and donated the proceeds to a charity.

Not sure about the salvageability of the murals/pictures, but they could have raised money for charity with those too.
