  1. So is Chad Green dead? Didn’t pitch yesterday or Sunday yet didn’t seem to be available today.

  2. Three Montoyo Sweeps in a row!

That’s not too bad. Would’ve been great to win today.

Go beat up on the Padres.

  3. That was a pretty brutal loss, but can’t be mad with a 6-3 homestand.

Swanson will be okay in the long run. There were similar concerns about Gausman and Cabrera at the beginning of the season and now they look like their old selves

Much needed off day tomorrow for the pen

Also, Juan Soto wishes he could be Daulton Varsho

  4. Did anyone else lip read what Schneider was saying towards the end at the ump? Dude chewed him out lol

  5. We got lucky with getting a save with a cold romano yesterday. Sucks we had to try it again

  6. We blew it point blank period, we had it and we couldn’t hold it. This game isn’t on Vlad Jr it’s on the bullpen

  7. Well at least it was nice seeing Gausman getting back to form, and Schneider getting ejected was fun too

  8. I guess bullpens do that sometimes. Shame we couldn’t close it down for Varsho.

And nice to see Gausman looking more like himself today.

  9. Will love to see the ump scorecard after this one. And calls were going both ways that how bad it was.

  10. Tough situation. If Green isn’t available Friday please IL him, absolutely no reason to be occupying a roster spot sitting on the bench for a week.

  11. I assume Green is dead, in which case, Swanson was the right move. This isn’t on Schneider. Swanson just needs to not pitch like shit. I don’t even think he got a single swing and a miss.

  12. If chad green was available, we likely win this game. Its a shame but what can you do, wasnt meant to be

  13. That’s the kinda game that is going to haunt them in September… when you’re beating a division rival like that you gotta get the job done

  14. Bigger picture-wise, I really wanted Vladdy to have a bounceback season closer to his mvp self. Pretty disappointed with the results so far tbh

  15. Bleak ending to an otherwise fun game, but Gausman seems to have bounced back a bit and the bullpen will get some desperately needed rest tomorrow. Still took two of three from the division leaders, enjoy that and move on.

  16. Absolute heartbreaker, but still a great homestand and we still took 2/3 against who were the hottest team in baseball coming into it. Schneider stuck up for his guys and Gaus looked like he’s getting back to his normal self, all in all can’t be too mad. Bring on the Padres!

  17. Oh well, Swanson being bad in his first game back and the umpire being the one of the most horrendous I’ve ever seen, while they are insanely frustrating, aren’t things that I’m super worried about going forward. Series win, could be worse

  18. enough positives to not be too pissed off. won the series. gausman looked good. romano and yimi both unavailable. on to the next

  19. Sad not to take the sweep when you’re winning in the ninth, but 2/3 against the Yankees at home can’t be complained about

  20. Yankees are a dangerous line up. They were due for some hits. Take the series win and move on. Day of rest will be nice.

  21. Why are you lot bitching about the bullpen? It’s been very good as a rule. Losses happen

  22. People are gonna be mad. That’s fine. I’m pissed, too. It sucks to not sweep the team you hate the most because your bullpen couldn’t close it out and the monster that you held hitless all series gets his first hit with the bases loaded in the 9th.

But my god… The stuff that comes out of the woodwork here whenever anything goes bad is just disappointing. I feel sad for some folks. Schneider didn’t have Romano, Green, or Garcia available and had already used Richards and Cabrera. Turning to Swanson and then Mayza was about the only option left. I’d rather try that than burn out a valuable arm in April.

Ah well. Still won yet another series and we get a rest day before the Padres. Have a good one folks!

  23. tough loss, but that’s still three series wins in a row after that not-so-great start. Let’s make it four in a row this weekend

  24. Fuck. That sucked. I was really looking forward to just enjoying the thought of the Yankees getting swept. 😔

  25. Glad to see Varsho doing well again!! Already has great defense. The bullpens been rough this season tho, hopefully they can turn it around

  26. Holy shit, I had to run out after the end of the 7th and came back to losing 6-4?!? Why was Swanson put in, and even kept in the game for that long? Isn’t this his first game this season? Ugh, should have been an easy win.

  27. Surprisingly, I’m not too concerned about the bullpen. Instead, the lack of confidence I feel is from the Jays ability to mount any type of comeback when trailing late – it’s like they have to punch early and hard in order to win games.

  28. I am in NYC and went to a bar to watch game, it was pretty heavy champions league and asked the server to put on the Jays game, she looked at me sideways but heck no I ain’t saying the Yankees first

  29. Didn’t get to watch it but tough letting a sweep get away from us. Ah well. Varsho finding his power is awesome. Does so much for this lineup

  30. This was just bad roster management. If they knew Greene had a sore shoulder, why send Pearson down? Swanson wasn’t ready to come back up, he was pitching badly in his rehab assignments and it wasn’t like we needed him immediately. It’s just frustrating because we are going to need to lean hard on our pitching if we go anywhere this season, the bats aren’t bailing this team out

  31. For years the Jays find ways to lose opportunities for the sweep in the final game of the series – at least they’re consistent.

  32. I actually hate that I’ve come to think this, but I’m genuinely relieved we haven’t thrown the bag at Vladdy yet.

I don’t really want to pay someone who looks like a annual 1.5-3 WAR bat $28m a year. This is his 6th year playing and he’s still spending entire games in a mood and hacking away at anything thrown.

I desperately want him to sort it out and look like a solid bet for that huge contract but I’m at the point I’d rather someone else overpay him than us based on how it seems.
