From 1998-2000, Bobby Abreu posted a WAR over 6 each year, but was never an All-Star. That (3+ years with 6+ WAR & 0 AS) has never happened before or since.

Yeah but 5.8 of the WAR was achieved when the game had already been decided, amirite?
He’d have been an all-star current day with those numbers. Underrated player.
Juiced
I was pretty young for that time but I’ll never forget his performance in the home run derby.
My best friend, brother, dad, and I were watching chanting “too high too high” every time his opponent made contact and cheering out of our minds when the ball fell just short of the wall
Rolen Lieberthal Abreu and Thome were the first Phillies that I first fell in love with as a child
I’ve wanted him to be the hitting coach for-ev-verrr.
Not only was he a solid hitter, he had one of the best eyes at the plate of any batter during his time. If he argued a call with the ump, no need for replay, that shit was off the plate.
Bobby Abreu is my biggest argument when it comes to advance stats not being perfect.
Hall when?
Could always count on him to hit a HR when we were either up or down by 8 runs!
Also was allergic to the warning track and don’t think I ever saw him dive for a ball.
But you know, totally deserves to be in the HOF(according to the baseball sub Reddit) if all you do is look at stats and never actually saw him play day in and day out.
I’m not sure I’ve ever personally witnessed a player that was so overrated, and underrated, all at the same time.
I will still argue that we won that trade. Addition by subtraction.
He’s a bum, jogging for balls in the outfield
