1. He’s likely going to spend a significant amount of time on Jokic in single coverage

   If he can even make Jokic work, he’ll have more than proven his worth this season on defense as a versatile player than can be serviceable against both centers and big wings

2. Players a bit shorter that can get low and use their base (which rui has) helps against jokic

3. This worked well in during instances last finals. But the issue was our drop down defence was late, meaning when AD had to help, AG was catching lobs from Joker all game. Also means the rotation D closing out to MPJ is someone who is 6+ inches shorter (AR Guarded him this yr) and he is able to just shoot right over them with ease.

7. Would it have been better to put him on Zion and give Lebron a break? It’s not like Zion could have had any (much?) better of a game.

9. FuckIt Samurai is back guarding Jokic. Just don’t do it for so long that Jokic starts to adjust. AD, Lebron, RUi rotates each other and guard Jokic in full force. That’s our best bet since we don’t have a good meaty center for him.

   Then on offensive end, let Lebron switch hunt on Jokic, attack him, hopefully that caused him to be in foul trouble. AD too should be ready to attack at all times, don’t play soft, power through him, he might get 1-2 fouls with that. Together with Lebron attacking they might get JOkic in foul trouble even earlier.

   When Jokic tries to play point center don’t let him be. Always take the ball out of his hands immediately, don’t let him arrange his people and put them in good positions. Jokic is a more potent playmaker than a scorer.

10. I remember this sequence and thought instantly , ‘if Rui can lock folks up on the defensive end then he can be whatever he wants in the league’

11. Ingram is not too strong to push Rui out of the way or quick enough to get by him, kinda perfect match-up for him
