  1. Igor has yet to come out on top against a #1 goalie.

Though to be fair… Vasilevsky is the only one he’s ever faced.

  2. Did they end up winning the presidents trophy? If they did hopefully the curse lives on and they are the latest team to expend all their efforts all.season to win that stupid thing and then flame out in the playoffs. The PT is one I wouldn’t mind us never winning. It seems to be a curse for the playoffs

  3. We’ll see but I really don’t take them as the typical cup contender. Their roster is pretty whack.

Elite first-line centre that’s among the very best players in the world.

    Nope.

Elite first-line winger to support the elite centre.

    Yes.

Two other top-line wingers on each of the top two lines.

    Sure.

Top-line centre to play behind the elite centre.

    I guess.

Two more top-six forwards for depth in the middle six.

    Nope.

    Elite No. 1 defenceman.

    Yes.

A second No. 1 defenceman to play behind him.

    Nope.

A top pairing defenceman to help anchor a strong second pair with the No. 2.

    Sure.

Another top-pairing calibre defender to crush soft minutes on the third pair.

    Sure.

A top 10 calibre starting goaltender.

    Yes.

There’s just too many holes on that roster, way too top heavy. Panarin, Fox and Igor aren’t enough to carry a team to a cup especially since Panarin seems to shrink in the playoffs.
