  1. I’d be pissed too if I’m the second best player on the team and CJ fucking McCollum checks in during the clutch before I do. CJ was playing way worse during that game.

  2. It’s a huge fuckup if BI was held out not due to injury management. It doesn’t matter that he was having an off game coming back from injury. He was still our best shot at creating offense.

  3. Zion had gotten benched too for stinking up the joint. It’s gonna happen especially if you’re back from injury. Was really disappointed to see BI’s body language be so bad on the bench

  4. He was stinking up the joint last night. The offense immediately became stagnant when he got in, and started going iso before shooting a contested midrange. He’s clearly not 100%, but pitching a fit isn’t gonna do anything, especially when he plays like shit

  5. If this is true…it’s all the more reason to trade BI this offseason. This behavior is cancerous to a locker room…especially coming from one of your leaders

  6. Hopefully he unleashes his anger against the Kings. Let’s get this playoff appearance man Z gave it all for this team I think they owe something to Zion. C’mon BI.

  7. Yup, He had terrible body language on the bench. I think its pretty clear he’s gone in the offseason

  8. He was probably frustrated at his own play more than anything, no reason to speculate and get angry till he speaks

  9. How quick the fans on here have turned on him. Zion gave it his all, Zion this, Zion that. Zion is the best player on the Pelicans, no doubt. But let’s not forget the many times BI carried the Pels, what he did against the Suns, the many times he was our only bright spot to talk about when Zion was hurt, not too mention all the times we’ve seen him support all his teammates. He had a bad day, obviously upset about the game, his own play, how his own injury held him back. Now where are the fans now to bring him up, to give him support.

  10. I have no problem with the benching, I have an issue with the end sequence where you don’t even try to put BI in when there was no Z, Cj arguably for being fully healthy was playing far worse. But until I see a Nola reporter, and especially Chris Clark a known BI hater, report something, these podcasts always have ‘sources’, same thing happened with supposedly trading zion last off season to portland, and how emphatic Bill Simmons was that It would happrn because of his ‘sources’.

Bi probably did storm out, but who knows his actual feelings, he probably was pissed, he probably was pissed at himself for playing poorly and letting everyone down, we’ve seen how hard he is on himself and coaches and players have difficulties, being able to work past it is what means to be an adult, I’m sure Bi and Willie are fine today.

I’m sure at the beginning of the year when Zion’s conditioning was terrible, he was pissed, he seemed pissed when Willie benched him in the IST but you move past it, we’re all human, no need to make a mountain out of a mole hill

  11. BI and Zion are both injury prone, but Zion clearly has a MUCH higher ceiling as we have seen the last few weeks of this season. It’s time for this franchise to move on from the BI/Zion experiment.

  12. I have low key never been a fan of BI since he went all haymaker against the Rockets when he was still on the Lakers. I wouldn’t be disappointed to see us get a good defensive big for him to put next to Zion

  13. Meh. He was upset with his play, most likely. Big nothing burger.

Rest up for the next game and hopefully we’ll make the 1st round. Just hate the awful timing for these injuries. Frustrating, but injuries happen. They’ll be better for it.

  14. Does Bi have to be better in this situation? Absolutely, but you can understand why he felt like that. And it does shout volumes about willie.

The coach he trusts, who he’s be through the high and lows with over the last three years, before Larry and cj even got here, who you’ve happily sacrificed for, so the team is more cohesive, a guy you trust and you thought trusted you, and had to there and watch cj stink up the game worse than you and Larry who has played bad for what seems like half the season, and also willie stating that you’re gonna get more playing time, basically say nah we’re good with these older vets, I trust them more even when they’ve played worse than you, over you, I’d feel so pissed off, too not even get two minutes after z went out

  15. I am not putting a lot of stock in this report.

Either way BI is coming off injury and wasn’t playing well. The group that was in was hot. Gotta ride that wave.

BI wasn’t in a good rhythm when he was playing anyway.

  16. I actually think it was a rare W for Willie Green keeping him out. Principles matter and precedents matter. It’s been made clear throughout the season that roleplayers who don’t perform can be turfed out on a dime.

If we allow BI back on in the final minutes despite a putrid performance AND a clearly toxic attitude on the bench, what message does that send the rest? I wanted to win that game as much as anyone else in here, but I respect the call not to just kowtow to a whining ‘star’.

CJ has had some fucking atrocious games this year, mixed in with some absolute flamethrower games. He never dropped his lip and neglected the team, he kept his chin up like a leader and often came back stronger. There’s a real gulf in maturity here, and was rightly not rewarded in BIs case.

  17. One horrible game is all it takes for the sly subliminal comments to turn into straight poison on this sub. Can’t imagine how miserable it must be rooting for a team and hating one of the top 2 players this much.

Also what’s with everyone saying this is good because they came back without him. The puzzling move was not putting him instead of CJ or Dyson AFTER Zion went down. The amount of comments saying Friday doesn’t matter anymore, they don’t care etc. better not be in the game thread. Everybody else still rocking with the 12, let’s get this fucking W and by some miracle Z is back during the playoffs

  18. Maybe “Fight like hell for a contested midrange shot” is finally being removed from the Pels playbook.

  19. Trade demand Summer about to happen. People act like Ingram turning down an extension wasn’t ominous.
