[Feyd-Rautha] This is why having a good coach in Nick Nurse is so important. The Sixers were shell shocked in the 1st half and had no idea what to do, but 2nd half, Nurse adjusted and started bringing Embiid up to with shooters opposite wing, which had the Heat zone out of position

  1. Completely agree. We saw similar defensive adjustments used by the Celtics in game 6+7 last year and doc did not change anything.

Morey also deserves credit for targeting guys who can shoot reasonably well and who have played enough games to not be rattled.

  2. Thank fuck we have a competent coach! Legit question though, why does it take until halftime to make adjustments? Wouldn’t nurse/rest of our coaching staff have realized what the heat were doing to make adjustments sooner?

  3. It felt like trying to put a square peg in a round hole. Even if it would’ve worked, it would’ve been exhausting. Thats why doc’s teams tend to collapse down the stretch, bc every bucket is hard fought

  4. Dude couldn’t take down a desert mouse, but knows sufficient tactics to explain the game last night. 10/10 post.

  5. Did the sixers execute better in the second half, or did the heat not run the zone as much?

  6. I was trying to figure out what they were doing it looked like they were running two different zones at the same time.

  7. While major changes were made at halftime, I did see them make adjustments BEFORE halftime to attack the zone defense. And that is what was more impressive. They were trying different looks right away.

  8. They didn’t count on Nicolas Batum goes the dynamite.

*In fairness I don’t think any of us did
