CBs the Falcons Could Target Throughout 2024 NFL Draft

  1. Unless Raheem is drastically switching up his defense, I’m not a big fan of mocking press man specialists like Renardo Green (seen in this article) and Ennis Rakestraw (seen in other articles) to us. The reason why Green finally popped in college was he moved to a press man role.

Some of my favorite fits for the Falcons:
    * **Quinyon Mitchell, Toledo**- I’m not advocating for taking a CB at 8, but if we do, this is the guy you do it for. A scheme-proof ball-hawker with CB1 potential.
    * **Kool-Aid McKinstry, Bama**- If we get a late 1st round pick, I’d target Kool-Aid. He can play any style, and matchup with most WRs types, and do it well. Would be such a nice CB2 to drop in opposite Terrell.
    * **Kamari Lassiter, UGA**- The bad 40 time is concerning, but if any team can mitigate that glaring deficiency, it’s a team that plays off-ball coverage with an awesome FS in the back end. I wouldn’t be mad at taking him in the 2nd round, and if he falls to the 3rd round, I’d scoop him up.
    * **Andru Phillips, Kentucky**- If he were a little taller and a little longer, he’d be in the convo for one of the best outside CBs in this class, but his smaller frame means he’s probably a really good slot who can play outside in a pinch. Physical tone setter with great instincts and maybe the best trail technique in the whole class. If we’re not sold on Dee Alford as our long term nickel, I’d gladly take Phillips in the 3rd round.
    * **Cam Hart, Notre Dame**- You have to play him outside and keep him outside, and he can’t play in a press man scheme, all because he turns like a semi truck. He’s big, long, and fast, and he’s explosive coming downhill, but he changes direction slower than just about any CB I’ve seen. He could be good in a very, very specific role. I’d be fine taking him 3rd round, happy to get him 4th round.
