[Eric Williams] Chargers GM Joe Hortiz says it’s collaborative process, but he’s the one making picks. Bolts believe they will select the first non-QB at 5, and Hortiz says he’s not interested in a “fair trade” to move off pick. He will lean on Baltimore roots and take BPA.

  1. So they’re taking MHJ if he’s there. Nobody is shocked. Just not sure he’s still there since Arizona is supposedly demanding a King’s ransom.

  2. If true, sounds like he has heard enough from phone calls to know that Arizona is probably going to take an offer at #4 from a team drafting QB.

Whether that’s us, or Minnesota, no one knows yet.

But it sounds like four QBs are going ahead of pick six.

  3. Is his name pronounced like ‘Ortiz’ but with an ‘H’ or is it ‘Hor-itz’ ?

Edit: or is it pronounced ’Hortz’ ?

  4. The 4 qb’s and the Alt to the bolts. Leaves MHJ at 6. Who knows how it’ll play out, but that would be cool as hell.

  5. This draft certainly has the ingredients to go QB1-4 where an abundance of QB prospects with potential meet a high demand for new QBs especially from teams picking towards the top. However, it also wouldnt surprise me if a team like the Pats or Cards just take the best player available if they really value guys like MHJ, Nabers, Alt, etc
