There are some big issues with the comparisons.
JJ and Lance being a big stretch same with Penix/Jones, traits almost nothing alike.
The only comparison between this draft and 2021 is that everyone is claiming it’s a can’t miss, stacked draft for QBs.
Time will tell if that holds true, it certainly hasn’t panned out that way for 2021 and the odds are stacked against it being the case this year.
Ultimately none of that matters as long as the one you draft is done at an appropriate value and is a good fit. Whether that person exists at 12, up in the draft, lower in the draft or not at all is what matters. We have a shitload of needs including QB, hopefully we don’t force things.
Why would you be concerned with Penixs upside? its much much higher than Bo Nixs
2 can’t miss drafts and the best QB out of college recently has been Stroud.
While I get the Maye/Fields comparison, Daniels is actually compared to Fields way more than Maye from just how they play and their flaws.
I personally haven’t seen a single person call Caleb Williams a generational talent and praise him the way Lawrence was praised before his draft. I’m also pretty sure the general media consensus was that Lawrence was the best prospect since Andrew Luck and Manning. I’ve heard absoluteLee nothin like that for Williams. This post is kinda reaching, really.
Nix is the better Mac comp imo
Great analysis there are also two CB’s who have top 10 talent in this draft.
This is why trading up is probably stupid with our current roster.
The only reasonable comparison here is Williams and Lawrence tbh
Isn’t Bo Nix more comparable to Mac Jones?
