With all due respect, fuck that fragment
Outlaw bones.
For fucks sake
What’s the implication here? He bone fragment exasperated the need for tj, directly caused the tj?
This is why pitchers without bones are superior. They’re called rubberarms
Braves winning the WS after a freak accident like that.
Well that’s just rude, surely the bone fragment should have understood the problem and just got out of the way…
Speedy recovery Spencer
So are they saying this bone fragment was responsible for Strider needing the internal brace surgery? Did they remove the fragment? I’m not a doctor, just an idiot so trying to get some clarity.
Never thought I’d have a mortal grudge against a bone fragment in another man’s elbow, but here we are.
Bone fragments have hated us for years.
I wonder how often MLB pitchers get X-rays and MRIs of their arm. It feels like it wouldn’t be terribly hard to notice a rogue bone fragment growing over the course of 4 years, at least if they were doing routine scans.
idk if this is just grant’s interpretation – but I read this to mean there was not a UCL tear at all (which would be a big deal, I think, in terms of confidence that he can return to form 2025-onwards)
I was the only one asking questions last year when his velo dropped from 101 to 97
Stupid bone fragment!
This doesn’t mean anything extra?
Dear Bone Fragment,
Please kindly fuck off forever
Sincerely, All of Braves Country
Damn thats good news. As a TJ survivor myself, he probably was pain-free until this completely broke off and was disrupting that ligament. Had some teammates in college who had more bone shaved off, and some who had the ulnar nerve relocated to prevent this. He prob has been pain-free up until this happened, and thats when they checked it and moved forward with surgery.
I wouldn’t see the need for continuous MRIs unless there was discomfort. Pitchers already have small micro tears from pitching, so it would just be a run around trying to figure out what to do if there was no pain/discomfort.
Hopefully, they got it all cleaned up, and he heals up quickly.
Not the new curve ball he was working on huh…
All things considered isn’t this “good” news? At least we know he didn’t destroy his arm by throwing 99+ alone
Hey I just had a bone spur removed from my shoulder! He just like me fr
The good news is the ligament was totally intact and fine. This was a freak injury—not due to his throwing or the new curve ball.
Find that fragment and grind it to powder – sends a message to any other fragments out there.
