Saw this stat during the last game. How is this not taken into consideration for Hart? More than 60% of the whole season, Kuch was on top.

  1. Because Tampa Bay Lightning. Hockey doesn’t belong in Florida. That’s why…

But do we give a flying hoot? No – because we KNOW they’re wrong. Espo was right and now we have the best pro sports franchise in the world, the best overall hockey team in the NHL and probably the best 4 players in the NHL. We know that x goals, and y assists isn’t the only aspect of hockey. Our team plays the game like Kuch plays the game – like chess, 3,4,5 moves ahead while every other team is playing checkers, 1 move at a time.

  2. In all seriousness, doesn’t it seem like there’s an edict out that Kuch will not get this award? Maybe the nhl brass because of the ASG, who knows. Someone must be driving this narrative because even if you’re unpopular, you’d expect at least one talking head making Kuch’s case for the Hart given this season, but it’s unanimously Mack in a race too tight to be unanimous. They all have the same talking points.

I’m probably going to get called a nutter, lol. But hey, maybe we’ll get another golden press conference from Kuch calling out additional bullshit!

  3. A Canadian on Facebook explained to me that I’m an asshole for not supporting Matthew’s because he’s an American. So insufferable.

  4. These bum ass writers and association members hate small markets and will vote to spite teams they don’t like far more often than they will attempt to be impartial (See Josi vs Makar in 2022). To other franchises, Kucherov signifies the ’18 million’ rhetoric and years of beating down teams they wanted to win. Our success kills a lot of these guys deep down, which is why despite Kuch leading in almost every important offensive category, Mackinnon is still somehow magically in the lead for the Hart. The excuse being he’s ‘due’ which is really just massive coping from the haters that even in a down year, Kucherov puts up the best offensive season a winger has had in the modern era.

I want to be upset about this, and I am a bit, but it is what it is at this point. These morons will cast insane votes knowing there’s no repercussions, with many of the bogus ones coming from writers whose teams were out of the race months ago.

  5. Kuch got an assist or goal on 49.48% of all the lightning goals scored. When you actually break it down if he’s not on the ice were at a major disadvantage as he basically is responsible for 50% of the lightning goals. .!!!! Just fucking amazing tbh. Cheers and congrats either way kuch. Let’s go Bolts.

  6. Respectfully, I don’t know why so many Lightning fans seem so invested in whether Kuch wins the Hart or not. You know he couldn’t care less. Kuch has shown time and time again he cares about winning the Cup and nothing else because nothing else matters. People are all pissed off because he was “disrespectful” during the All-Star week, but why should he care? He doesn’t seem to let the All-Star, Hart, or any “competition” that’s decided by biased judges bother him, so why should we? Let the league give it to McAltitude and pretend that he really earned it. Anyone with 2 eyes and enough brain cells to read should be able to see Kuch outperforms the others against tougher teams and road games. If you covered up all of their names and just looked at stats, everyone would pick Kuch for MVP. Just be happy he is winning all of the real competitions and accept the NHL/ESPN will not give him the recognition he deserves.

  7. The biggest thing for me…it’s the first time in NHL HISTORY that a winger has gotten 100 assists. Kuch literally did something that has NEVER been done before. That has to mean something. Also, Kuch has the 3rd highest point total for a winger in NHL history. Only 2 other wingers have ever had more points.
