  1. I can’t watch this but I expect someone to make a full PowerPoint of everything I missed

  2. Does this mean the Wings are keeping Lalonde??? Really? That’s the best coach to develop all this talent?

  3. Loose transcript for those who can’t watch

    **Lalonde:**

    * Improvements in goals for – team defense needs to improve going forward. Goals against improved, Shots against per game went up, Grade A chances against improved. Improvement – some positives, but not enough
    * With Dylan Larkin we’re a 100 point team (pace) and without him we’re picking first overall. Tough loss on center depth when he got injured
    * Wants some more “Defensive DNA” in the lineup
    * Goaltending was a huge positive for us down the stretch
    * Alludes to a Ville Hussa/Alex Lyon tandem going forward
    * Hoping to lessen the load on Seider. Knows workload may have seemed “unfair” to him, but he’s our top pairing D
    * Expectations for next year are changed going forward. Goal is to build on this year.
    * Doesn’t want to make the expectations playoff as that’s an outcome. Expectation is around the process not the outcome. There were holes and bumps in our process throughout the season
    * Team will change looking forward: team might be younger, some free agents may or may not be back
    * Praises Lucas Raymond
    * Thanked the team for pushing the organization forward but this is just the start.
    * Doesn’t want to nitpick on things like the 7 game losing streak or december – offers counter points like comeback wins, season series against toronto/tampa etc
    * Doesn’t want to talk about Dylan’s personal situation – praises his growth and says he asked a lot of Dylan this year. Is proud of him.
    * How do you replace pat kane if he leaves?
    * hard to replace – unbelievable teammate
    * brought a lot to the growth of the team
    * Talks about the growth of the young players in GR: Edvinsson, Kasper, Cossa
    * Anticipates the roster to be younger next year, but thats Steve’s decision
    * Says he loves working with youth and asked for some throughout the year
    * Excited about Alex Debrincat being a plus player this year – even in his down stretches he had chances, so wasn’t concerned about goals
    * Lalonde thinks he grew with the team this season as his assessment of himself

  4. My read on Stevie is Kane is gone (will command more from just about anywhere) and Ghost is the priority to re sign

  5. Key part from Yzerman’s presser: we need to be better defensively and it’s up to the players AND coaches to make that happen.

  6. Thanks to everyone who provided a summary.

I was a harsh critic of Lalonde, but hearing him here made me feel a little bit better about him. He’s pretty even keeled and sensible in his evaluation of the season. I think he comes off well and I look forward to seeing what he does next season.

The topic of Larkin seems to be an emotional one. You can tell that the guys and Lalonde feel protective of him and also proud. I know it’s not related to the team’s performance but that indicates there’s a good culture in the locker room with support for one another. I hope there a better days ahead for Larkin.

Overall, this season felt different to me. It feels like something good is coming together, similar to the Lions in 2022/23, as others have said. I hope we’re right.

  7. Am i crazy or does lalonde think he is some hard ass in his own mind? Doesn’t rly give me those
vibes but kept talking about how
hard he was on specific players
