Oilers @ Avalanche 4/18 | NHL Highlights 2024
for Edmonton not so much Henrik Fogle
and Conor Brown start the game here’s
Mar in deep had it knocked off this sck the
turnaround shot catches iron here’s Casey
mlat trying to get going offensively it has been
a struggle recently M get Second Chance Le and
Fir Tick Tac oh down to a minute 18 in and
Colorado a one- nothing lead round for the
first two shifts overwhelmed by the top six
of the ABS look at the room into the zone for
Middle stat that’s one thing but then the ABS way
too easy get to the puck and are able to create
this chance and it’s it’s like a passing drill as
linan goes back across the Val nusan he announced
that through the local media he’s had a terrific
career and will be celebrated everywhere here he
is from the angle you’re fitting for him to get a
goal here tonight yeah well you you’ve only got so
many roster spots and they want to rest all those
guys so it’s yeah 11 forwards and 6D that’s it Ma
rocket missed the Mark if they want to get steu
Stewart Skinner 25 or 30 shots of work shot at
a score making it look easy rocket from raning
in from the angle two nothing Colorado for the
ABS we saw NuSkin first now rantin in one of the
game’s true Elite power forwards McKinnon gets
to the loose Puck so that’s a check to the loose
Puck Bednar would like that he talked about that
and then Ranon and who loves this right Circle
and as if the ABS needed any help they get to
have an extra man on the ice now right and all
the big boys are out there this is a terrific
power play but has only had one power play
each the last two games McKinnon off the perect
score making it look easy how about
three nothing Colorado and the second
for NuSkin into good position with his
size and then a redir is his specialty
in front watch him below the goal
line and then he finds open space
in front of Darnell nurse that pass is a pretty
clean one for McKinnon nurse has got his stick
up in the air so he’s not denying the pass and
NuSkin it feels different this year leaves it
feels like there’s about eight or 10 teams that
could win it just feels so tight absolutely and
that goes through the traffic and in bounces
through Skinner the point shot from Josh Manson
that might have hit three different pieces of
equipment on the way like I just don’t see any
benefit of leaving them in the net here A
Face Off win by trenin the shot’s blocked
and Manson’s going to shoot this from dead
center it looked like it might have hit one
of the Oilers halfway to the net there’s the shot
yeah he may have priced himself out of Colorado
for next turned over and a break short-handed
for Edmonton Fogle lets it Go shot is stopped
Lepper out of 10 another stop us own it in couple
of big saves we’ll let you know if that changes
well they’ll change it eventually and here’s the
chance of Warren Fogle it’s a good shot on it
and with the save and then Fogle who scored his
career-high 20th goal of the season is going to
come around the back of the net and he’s got
room here he sniffs the wrap around there’s
Cory Perry he’ll swing it around got Fogle
in a high slot bumper position now for Henrik
off for Perry back to the point shock catches
the crossbar rocketed behind ainin that was
Ryan McLoud who has really taken a step this year
short-handed chance there for B NuSkin two teams
that traditionally can fly you’re seeing that
Avalanche speed tonight and very G with all
the talent sitting out tonight for the Oilers
they look a little slower that deflection goes
through Dylan Holloway in the middle of everything
a power play goal has Edmonton on the board it’s
4 to one aggressiveness and some energy he’s
going to be a bottom six player for them he’s
going to push himself into the conversation
to be a everyday player for the Oilers in
the playoffs and he’s big and he’s strong and he
takes the little life here for Edmonton now one of
one great motivator is pride and you get thumped
like this early on here and good for the Oilers
for getting getting their foot on the gas pedal a
little bit Fogle Cuts in on Ma second shot at it
from the angle and Onin in is hugging that post
and it sort of goes back to where we’re talking
about a coach being fired every month I mean this
is It’s a high pressure business it’s win or get
out Vegas is playing Anaheim tonight if Vegas wins
then they go to edmont in and centered in front
OD had to be ready for that one Ryan McLoud with
a golden opportunity made the call Brian pansit
had warned the Oilers about a a bit of a sloppy
change there he gets them for too many men on the
ice there’s Devon Taves looking behind the net
M Mar Works Down Deeper Theus skin in the bumper
looking for the hat trick in the first period
got the shot away McKinnon hops into the Zone ner
will swing it around kicks off a skate and will
be kept in momentarily here’s Mar lets it go that
shot stopped close save loose change and Puck to
Edmonton and now that’s come to an end and we’re
back to five aside tav’s got enough turn over
off the pipe to the left of Anin yeah he’s got
four since the middle of March here’s that post
off the sideboard a quick release beats on it and
up over the glove it’s Fogle who was robbed in the
first period four big games for you on the family
networks on Sunday and our staff of thousands
fired up for it looking for the redirect on and
made the save and we get a whistle ends up making
the save as the ABS break down in the middle of
the ice again and Ryan gets all the way through
clean that’s a really nice feed Caleb Jones
becoming a factor here shot right on stop penalty
coming up Tran couldn’t handle and it’s back the
other way here’s Perry with a lane shoots and
Ain it able to close up the five Hall Jared bedar
always gives it to you straight we appreciate
that I I love his honesty and when you talk to
the ABS players over the course of the season
they just rap about the communication skills of
Jared Bedard like if you have any question what he
wants after that you don’t set up in front for the
goal and you know what’s interesting we
just hear the interview right he wants
Simplicity he wants work and what is this
play about it’s work below the goal line
by wood and Colton there’s nothing
fancy about this you take the puck
out and then Colton makes a terrific
play and like he’s done so many times
before Holloway has the one goal for Edmonton
tonight long shot through traffic loose Puck
scrambled for it Cory Perry is there still
loose side of the net all right jacks tell the
truth did you ever think you had it made and
you got the email and said you weren’t going
to be part of the playoffs that goes in off a
glove and immediately ruled no goal correctly
ruled by the official demon technically
spoton just as we’re talking with Dave
Jackson Jacks well done by the men in Stripes
here on this play two yeah and the Oilers still
waiting officially for an opponent well as
of right now it looks like it will be Los
Angeles and that would mean
Vegas to Dallas the horn sounds

When will teams learn momentum isnt on tap. You cant turn it on and off, and expect the same pressure when you turn it on again. Oilers have dupped themselves.
Knowing that their better players are scratched, kind of makes the avs win seem lame tbh
Whoop-de-dooo! 🙄
I am a huge Avalanche fan and always have been… but I see junk when I see it. They can’t play defense and Gio can’t save better than a .910 average, at best. No cup for Avs this year. They can’t beat the stars or the jets.
Yeah start annunen avalanche unless you wana get bounced. Did you see how much better annunen is
Don't care if you got the big shots or not playoff hockey is not a boat outscoring your opponents it's about saves and defense even if you had five forwards the goalie's got to stand on your head not sit on their knees and give them all five holes that's your goalie for the playoffs look on your screen that's what you're sticking with he's notorious for letting into quickies in the playoffs that could be a win for opposition
Edmonton goalie just scared of the puck..let's in every puck ..just look at highlights when puck goes by goalie head the goalie shruggs up..
Ha ha ha if this is how the oilers play ,they won't last long in playoff..witch I hope they an Toronto lose first round..
49-27-6 record in 2023-24 season same record they had 2 season ago
"A very bad move to give the key players a break in the last game. Such decisions can backfire."
What a disaster. 5-1.
"Colorado won't have any problems with Winnipeg. They'll win in five games."
mac with 140 points this year can you believe that the league had this many hundred point seasons
Skinner is GREAT : 4 goals after 6 shots ! ( may be NHL record?) SV% = .33% soon joins "great" Campbell ? in AHL ))🤪
who are the players wearing Oilers uniforms that played against Colorado today? A: nobody ))🤑🤑
Oilers @ Avalanche
Oilers in prime playoff form.
Great job Colorado ….. you beat a 5th line team
They are not going far w the Goalie lineup
Edmonton Will be out in first round the way they are playing
Avalanche is looking for revenge in this playoffs
I wanted nothing more than to go to the first Avs Oilers game. I remember watching McDavid when he joined the league and had long hair play the Avs. I knew Nate Dawg and McDavys was going to be the best hockey to watch.
Fast forward from 2018-19, I got hit by a truck in January and never made it to go watch these two square off, but man, if I die soon, I will have gotten to see some of the best hockey in my lifetime!
Go Avs! Secondly, go Oilers….you know who gets the tie breaker
Also, Nate had the best all around season and needs to get the Heart! Kuch is not the better player all around. I'd take Nate any day of the week, season over season!
McDavid was really invisible in this game 🤔
Woooooooo way to go avalanche woooooo
Big takeaways, Parise starting to look very good. ChuChu back.up to speed after his injury. 1st period was real. Last 30 minutes meant nothing and looked like it.
Edmonton played good that night!
