The app goes into this mode several times per game. Have to click Watch, then Watch Live to resume. No options in Settings to stop it (Chromecast with Google TV). It's becoming infuriating.

We have the same experience! Its a terrible app.
Ballys last year in my Apple TV was always super quiet… but the app still fucking sucks. I hate that I have to pay for it. Honestly… I can’t believe I’m saying this but I can’t wait until this team is on prime.
They still make Chromecast?

While the app isn’t great on Apple TV, I can say it has been mostly reliable.
It has messed up a couple times since the beginning of the season but nothing a quick force-close didn’t fix.
I’ve yet to have problems on my TCL or Firestick (though I’ve had a million problems with the Firestick lol). Sorry that’s happening to you man
On a similar note, the mobile app sucks ass and freezes every 5 minutes. I have to constantly restart the app on my phone when I’m at work. I just don’t know they don’t fucking fix these problems especially when people pay $20 a month when it used to be free.
New Bally Sports subscriber. I was shocked at how garbage this app is. Also it’s frustrating that my espn app sends a notification a minute before Bally shows the play. The delay is ridiculous.
There’s a Bally sports app? Where can I get it? My Dad has been dying to watch his games
