Injury Report

  1. Two things:

    1. Herb having some otherworldly defensive series and more or less shutting down SGA enough to get us the series would be incredible.

    2. I’m sure internally the team knows, but these are the times where it would be nice to know if Zion has any shot at coming back for this series if it goes long enough.

Two weeks from his injury would be the 30th, but we know there will be the bs ramp up period so maybe game six or seven if we make it that far?

This whole standard two week evaluation response is extremely frustrating. During that time, if the player feels better, are they letting the player test it out or is it two weeks and nothing less? I know hamstrings can be difficult, but it’s crazy to me that most of our players never seem to attempt to play through injury. CJ being the exception of course.

  2. Nah I feel hella disrespected by Vegas and all the ESPN “analysts,” they think there’s like no chance win this series.

I am NOT saying we’re favored to win without Zion, but like cmon we got a decent puncher’s chance, we have one of the best depth in the league for a reason.

  3. The turnaround is rough to play today in OKC. Should we have just punted this game and play the reserves to see if any of them could get hot so the banged up and overplayed guys can rest? Or do teams who have the higher seed locked in tend to sleep walk into game 1?

Edit: lol no need to down vote, just tell me I’m crazy and I’ll probably agree. I’m a bit nervous about BI, CJ, and Jose right now. Probably more I’m forgetting battling it out.

  4. I went back and re-watched the game we played the Thunder w/o Zion. The final score was a blowout but with 5min to go in the 3rd it was a 6pt game so we didnt let go of the rope until late. Things I noticed:

Neither team shot well from deep but we were atrocious. Trey, CJ, Herb, and Jose combined for 6/26 from 3 that game. Thats a losing recipie no matter the opponent. We must hit shots.

(This occured in all 3 games but the only game I cared for was the one without Zion) Larry had more minutes than JV but less box score production, however neither big was particularly effective on either end. I think our best bet is for JV to wear down Chet over the course of the series.

Back door cuts. Holy shit they destroyed us all game with those. Think of the Kings game before the Play-In with Harrison Barnes scoring repeatedly on back door cuts but from the whole OKC team. Need to keep our head on a swivel or they will burn us.

16 Turnovers. Speaks for itself. Giving away 4 possessions a Q will burn you especially in the playoffs.

Ultimately we played an awful game offensively but managed to hang around until the Thunder caught fire in the 4th. I didnt see any glaring mismatches – we simply have to make shots.

I think today is our best shot to steal a road game. Pels by 20
